Hi there, I have been taking zoloft for the last 6 months to treat mild anxiety, recently I had skipped two days on my pill and it happens that my partner and I had sex that night. I had run out of a perscription so I have not taken a pill for the last week. I have had lower back pain, stomach cramps and have been feeling tired and nausious. Can any one please tell me the effects zoloft would have on a new fetus. I would be happy to be pregnant but I am worried about the effects of zoloft on the baby. I have not taken any tablets for the last three days and wonder if I am pregnant, is the damage already done, and is this too early to tell if I am pregnant. I am probably being paranoid. Please help, any info would be appreciated. Confused Confused

Pregnancy And Zoloft
I'm not sure, but I don't necessary think zoloft can harm a fetus. What I do know is that you are not suppose to stop taking zoloft cold turkey. It will make you very sick. Your doctor is suppose to help you get off of it gradually. Also, abruptly quitting the pill (before you have finished the pack) can also do weird things to your body. If I were you I would call my doctor and ask her what she thinks, or sometimes if I need to know an answer to important medical question immediately, i'll call a local hospital, and if a nurse or a doctor is available they will answer it for me.
-help that helps..Take care.

Zoloft & Pregnancy
Dear surf girl,

zoloft and ciprimil are 2 drugs used to treat anxiety and depression in pregnant women, so it should be fine. If you are pregnant, just make sure your doctor is aware that you are taking it, they will monitor your progress. About 2 weeks before delivery time, you would be expected to gradually lower the dose and by the time your due date has arrived you probably won't take any. As soon as you have had bubby, you could go back to taking zoloft under the guidance of your doctor of course.

Good luck...

They are both right. I am on zoloft (350mg) and have been for....Wow a long time! I would suggest you try not to miss your pills though because, as I know very well, withdrawls are horrendous. I get shocks from my brain that come out my fingers. Its very odd and uncomfortable and I get nauseaus with headaches. Best of luck!
