Q: Pain Meds.

I'm trying to figure out whats the best pain med. My Dr. Told me I should start figuring out what im going to ask for. What do u girls recomend? I heard epidural can make u go paralyzed if u move while they do it. Oh they also said they can give u pain medication though ur iv does anybody know about that? ?

Well it depends on what you want. The eipidural will numb the bottom half of your body and youwill only feel a little bit of pressure. No pain.

But the iv meds will only take the edge off the conractions. It will still hurt like crazy...

Yeah the epidural its a 0.02 % chance that you may become paralyzed. I would go with either natural birth...No meds..Or get the epidural.

My sis had an epidural with her second one...But they gave it to her so late that it didn't kick in until he was out!!!!

Yeah they can give you demoral/phenergan iv (or another similar drug) like they said...Its not going to take the pain away, only take the edge off.
