I exercise every single day, it has no effect on my grumbling stomach, it might be the solution for some, but not for me :( anyone else have anything to try.

Exercise really helps me a lot as well, but not to the point where i'd consider it a cure. If I do yoga, running or just about any type of vigorous exercise it helps me for the rest of that evening and maybe the next day... But I already exercise 4 times a week and I still have the same symptoms.

Yeah
Yeah, i'm actually trying to get into bodybuilding, so I train 5 days a week, so I think I get enough exercise. I actually think that this whole thing started because when I was trying to bulk up I was eating around 6 cups of oats a day, which in hindsight I can see as being insanly stupid. Thats when all of my problems started was a couple weeks after going on that bulking diet. I'm thinking that my problem might be that I can't digest the gulten protein, so i've been going on a gluten free diet for a couple of days now, and i'm actually feeling a little bit better, but this diet is pretty hardcore:( only eating rice and potatoes for carbs is really hard, but w/e. Thanks for the suggestion of exercise though, whoever brought it up, thanks for posting what made you feel better! Hope you continue to feel well!

Gluten Intolerance
You know what I think seanscs "might" be right. Because on the internet it says that gluten intolerance has lots of overlapping symptoms with candida and ibs and is frequently misdiagnosed as being candida overgrowth or ibs.

On friday I did not eat anything at night and did not eat anything the next morning. The only thing I ate for lunch were nachos. And though I did not eat enough, I did feel a little bit better.

If it is a gluten intolerance, then I think it will be very difficult to keep a gluten free diet. Because if you look on the packages of food, wheat is there in a lot of foods, even in stuff like pasta and in instant foods, flour. And a gluten free diet means avoiding all sources of wheat, barley and oats.

Maybe thats why eating tacos makes some of us feel better. Maybe because its completely gluten free???.

Yeah, it could be. I've been on a gluten free diet for about 4 days now, and my bloating is gone! Still have some instestinal noises, but not nearly as much. I'll keep letting you know how it goes, I heard it should take a week to feel back to "normal".

Heres a good site I found about it. Http://www.Celiac.Org/cd-what.Php

it might suck just eating potatos, rice, and special gluten free stuff but it's worth feeling good.

Ive been thinking about it, and altho I get really nervous in class of my stomach making a noise. It doesnt. And it never really has.. Except today I had a double lesson of english at the end of the day and had the worst wind ever lol. And my stomach was so bad, I could feel it all round my stomach and lower back area and it was so uncontrollable. But the thing is no one heard cos of my teacher talking! And shes not the loudest of speakers to be honest. I told my friend who was sitting next to me that my stomach was really bad (she knows bout it) and she said she couldnt hear it at all. But of course it sounds so much louder and worse to us cos we anticipate it and get v paranoid. Then the teacher said we had to sit in silence for 15 mins to read something and it practically stopped and there were no noises at all.. Very weird...

Please Read
Hi, I suffered from the same noises for about one year and got fed up - that couldnt possibly be a normal way of life. So I started researching various stomach problems (essentially reading online and otherwise) - and what seemed quite close was candida. I tried the candida diet and some anti fungals and it has really helped me. (i've recently started on homeopathy for different problems, but which essentially cures anxiety and depression and could have also helped with the noises, cause they seem to be related a lot to the way I feel..). So I would sincerely suggest you guys to check out a few online quessionaires to figure out if you have candida. If yes then do indeed atleast try out the candida diet - you can go over to a more serious treatment if you find that the diet helps you. Also note that it takes about a month for you to see a big change - so dont give up too soon. Anyways - its atleast better than dealing with this problem for life.
A lot of medical practitioners have started treating candida - so please consult your health practitioner before you do anything.

Lastly - please let me know if you see a difference.

Yeah, quite a few ppl have figured its something to do with candida. Wen I dnt eat yeast and sugar my stomach feels a lot better, but if I eat it, it really triggers spasms and noises.
I had an hour test the other day which I had been quite worried about, but again I was absolutely fine, a bit nervous at first but then I calmed and it was great. Then had another test first period the day after, and usually my stomachs worse in the morning but I was fine again! I realy think I am getting better and my anxiety is a lot lower. Im also feeling a lot happier as I was in a slight depression a couple of months ago. I jus realy hope it keeps getting better...

I saw another person's post with the same problem. Its relatively new. If I have time I might try to refer this person to this forum.

one thing thats very very obvious, is that almost all of us are college students or approximately the same age. I am 24 right now. This person is 20.

I’m glad to have found this forum. I can relate to most of the problems being mentioned here. I’m 20 and at university at the moment. I’ve had ibs symptoms for around 4 years now and they started in year 11 of school where my life got more stressful. I would have symptoms like severe wind pain, bloating, diarrohea, paleness and would feel sick. But I only had these symptoms when I woke up early which would be worse if I was stressed. I would be perfectly fine on the weekends and when I could wake up later, it was only on school days or other days where I had to wake up early where I had these symptoms but even then they would only be in the morning classes and then i’d be perfectly fine at around lunch time and for the rest of the day. I have to mention here I never had any stomach noise at school. Most days I wouldn’t even eat lunch or breakfast and there was never any stomach noise or tummy pain. So I could get through my exams and stuff ok with no embarrassment. I got to first year university and the problems were still there. I went to the doctor’s and had stool test checked for bugs and also had pills to treat a gardia infection. There was no improvement and he came to the conclusion that I would get better over time. Well I was alright with that because it was only in the mornings that I had these symptoms. Ok, now I get to second year university and I have my semester exams and 2 hours in to the first one, I get embarrassing stomach noise which I thought at the time were hunger noises even though I had eaten lunch. This also happened in my other 3 hour exams and I was fine for about 2 hours into the exam then for about 30-40 mins, my stomach would hurt and it would make noise every so often. Basically, my stomach became more vocal after that, it would make noise after some foods, when I lye down at night or in the mornings (quite loud), after soft drink and in the morning after a night of alcohol. Ok, now I start to skip lectures and dread exams because I know that some time into that exam or lecture, my stomach will start to churn and noises will start to happen. It’s now been happening for about 1-1.5 years. Taking my mind of it definitely helps and not being stressed but yea that’s really hard to do unless i’m drinking alcohol or am at home. I went to see a gastrologist and he recommended taking out lactose and seeing what would happen, I don’t think it helped. I also had a blood test which returned negative. The next step was to see a dietician and if I was not happy with the results I would go back to him. Anyways, I went to the dietician and we monitor my food intake with levels of noise, wind, pain, stress etc and also increase my fibre to regulate my bowels. We still can’t work out what is wrong and so I might need to go back to the gastrologoist very soon. I really don’t know if my symptoms are caused by the ibs or a separate thing all together because these sounds started to come after I had appendicitis and had to get my appendix out. I was on antibiotics and so it could be a yeast infection that was discussed on this post. My other symptoms may be due to no exercise because they started happening after I stopped playing sport and was doing more study. I haven’t really found anything that drastically improves anything but when I do, i’ll be sure to post. We have to help each other out. I will keep you updated on how I go with the doctor’s help. It’d be great to be able to chat with all of you in some kind of chatroom or msn to discuss these problems.

I mentioned starting a webpage on it, that way it can get crawled by google and easier to find by doing key word searches, the easier its found the more people with our problem can get together to discuss possible solutions and share knowledge, but for now this forum is the best on the net, yes i've searched the whole net, anyways people that are here now, please don't forget about it and keep checking back, we are making progress, small but anything is better then nothing, together we will find the solution and never have to worry about our stomach grumbling wildly and out of the blue again, it might not be anytime soon but we will prevail.

Good bye for now, and I will be back.

Edit: I also found this http://ehealthforum.Com/health/topic37291. Html

Sorry
Hey everyone, sorry to sound like a broken record, but i've had bad gas, extreme bloating, constipation, diarrhea and insane noises for around 6 months now. After having a endoscopy, many stool tests and blood work done, the doctors couldn't find out what was making me feel so sick. A couple of weeks ago my mom said a friend of hers had the same problem and she found out that it was a gluten protein intolerance. So my mom had me cutting gluten out of my diet (even though the blood work said I wasn't gluten intolerant) and for the last couple of weeks my gas has been greatly reduced, my bloating is gone, i'm having regular bm's and my noises have decreased dramatically. If you're really desperate for a solution you might want to give the diet a try, I think the diagnosis is called celiacs disease, so you can look up some diets on the web. I've been eating mainly rice, potato's, chicken, steak, salad, eggs, and a protein shake, just as an example. Best of luck to everyone, let me know if there's a movement to start a website!

Well, your diet is also yeast free. So, that might also be why you feel better. ( not saying that it isn't gluten intolerance, but just pointing it out). Personally, I would prefer having candida to gluten intolerance. If it was candida, we get it cured, were done. But with gluten intolerance, there is no cure. I hope I have candida and not anything else.

A few days back, I ate nachos again. But this time, with cheese sauce. And it felt like the noises started right after I ate. I couldn't figure it out. I thought that nachos made me better. But this time it didn't feel like that. So, I figured that it might be the cheese sauce. So, I have been trying to decide between candida or gluten intolerance.

So, to play it safe i've decided to follow a gluten free diet and a candida diet. Hopefully, i'll get better, get a hold on things, then start reintroducing stuff and seeing what triggers it.

I had an appointment the other day with my dietician and she said that a yeast infection is a different sort of yeast to the yeast found in food. The things to prevent the infection would be eat more foods with low gi index, cut down on sugar consumption and take good bacteria. Also, its highly unlikely that I have a gluten intolerance because my blood test returned negative. I'm going to the gastro doctor this wed.

Noisy Stomach
Hey peeps! In the uk there is a doctor named jan de vries has anyone heard of him?I went to him last wednesdayand he new exactly what we have is inflamation and indigestion in the stomach! Nothing to do with candida, gluten, yeast or excercise! He told me to avoid chocolate, pig(pork) and citrus fruits as these foods must cause the inflamation. He also gave me drops to put in water called gastrogen(yarrow extract) and digestive enzymes. He talked like he knew how it felt to have this problem and he says its not a nice thing to have an we have to get rid of it because its not a pleasant thing to live with.He has surgerys in auchendale,troon.Ayr.Glasgow.Edinburgh and dublin. If you live near these places its worth a shot guys! Im gonna see how this works and I will update you on it. Im going back in a month.I really hope this works!

rachie im really glad things seem to be looking up for you :-)
was just wondering if I could add you on msn if you have it?
You seem to be a similar age to me (im 17 next month)
and would just like someone to speak to about what I go through
you seem amazing and have tried a lot of things to try and help this silly problem!
Im kinda depressed now and take nurofen [stupid but it works sometimes]to calm the noises in my eng classes. They worked wonders a couple of years ago...Now I seem to be immune to it due to dependancy etc.

Reading all your problems brought me to tears. Ever find yourself asking why? On a regular basis? I'm always thinking that....

I'm Sorry to Find.....
So many people who have the same embarrassing problem of a noisy stomach as I do. My father has the same problem, and I use to hear his growls but now I feel his pain so to speak. It just started to be more noticable (louder) a few months ago. It's so loud it will wake me up out of a sound sleep and i'm beginning to spend less time with my boyfriend because of the noise, he just thinks i'm hungry all the time even though i'm not and I don't have an explanation as to why it's so loud. I have a very small frame, i'm 5'3" and about 105 lbs so I just thought that there wasn't much room in my stomach so i've tried to eat a little less (for being so small I have a very healthy appetite) but that doesn't seem to work. I read the other postings so I am going to eliminate soda and gum chewing to see if that doesn't help.

Hi yourstar, I dnt actually have msn im sorry! Used to have it but got rid of it bout a yr ago..
It'd b great to tlk to someone about it properly n discuss wats been going on and stuff.
It upsets me too to hear about everyone else suffering altho it is a relief that im not the only one lol.
I have my gcses exams, starting next week, and am extremely scared, these exams are so important. To kinda prepare for each one, il take an acidophilus tablet in the evening, then get up early so I dnt feel rushed in the morning n might take a sauna or a hot shower to try n calm the muscles. Take my mebeverine (antispasmodic), then 20mins later have a light breakfast, n then have some aloe vera juice which helps digestion(which I realy think helps btw). Then maybe peppermint oil. Ive also bought some heat pads to go on my stomach and can also be used for lower back (theyre usually ment for period pain but it says that the heat relaxes the muscles and stops spasms, and I have also read bout them on an ibs website..).
My teachers are being realy supportive and its been arranged for me to sit at the back at the side of the room by the door for all my exams so I kno il feel more relaxed cos of that.. If ne of u guys r in this kinda situation neva feel afraid to jus ask if u can be moved or whatever.. Dnt ask, dnt get! Its worth a try..
