Just wanted to share my day with you all. I had to sit through a morning of lectures in a deathly silent auditorium, it was packed full. I managed to sit next to the door so could exit relatively unnoticed if need be. I have no idea how i got through it all but i survived! I actually thought i'd never get out of there alive. We had 6 guest speakers and they just went on and on and on. It was pure torture. Every minute felt like an hour. I'd feel calm for 5ish minutes then i'd get a wave of anxiety. I did my best to concentrate on my breathing and took myself away mentally, thinking about my wedding day.

I cried my eyes out when i got home-it was a stress release more than anything and sometimes i think it's good to have a cry instead of trying to be strong all the time.

Anyway, i got through it and as uncomfortable as i was, i didn't get any noises! I have no clue why not as my stomach was in knots!!x

Hi,

I would like to suggest having colon hydrotherapy, which is an easy and very comfortable colon cleansing method, done at almost all gastrointestinal clinics around the world.

Its as simple as washing you colon with water, solving many symptoms, including but not limited to, IBS, flatulence, bloating, digestive problems, headaches and migraine.

The process doesn't take more than 45min and its so relaxing that people enjoy it.

There is no before or after side effect, or the need of medication. Therefor its absolutely private and can be done without your family/friend noticing.

Hope that helps.

Q8pharm...
its not as simple as that im afraid. that may help the symtpoms for a while (iv never tried it) but its not going to treat the casue of our problems, so isnt going to help us in the long term.

those have you who have spoken to your doctors about the problems.. what did you actually say to them?

I told my docotor i was getting lots of embarrasing noises coming from my stomach and bowels, that they got better after a bowel movement but they were always there. He said noises were very difficult to treat, that it was IBS and he prescibed me mebrevine which gave me belly ache and did nothing else!

Hey everyone...

Welshgirl.. I had that episode a month or so ago where I was snowboarding three full days in a row and I felt great out there on the slopes.. but back home it went crazy. But... I think that in a daily exercise manner, it will benefit. Like Justanothe1 says, it's another way to stick with the new being "healthy" attitude here. I used to run A LOT... but class got in the way! ha. I plan to pick it up again later this week for summer, and maybe that WITH my generally healthy eating will show some progress..

Justanother1, I hope the colon cleanse helps... you had Threelac prescribed to you? I avoid doctors at all costs if possible... and a GI just sounds useless from most people's experiences, and while the real colon cleansers sound useful... ah.. they just freak me out a bit. Keep us updated, we love good endings Smile

On a side note, I know several of us have discussed weight, and I had mentioned that I don't lose or gain weight very much, and that I have weighed the same for several years now. However... I went back home this weekend and weighed myself... I have gone from 130 to 123. Which... I suppose I should account for that I was 130 over Christmas holiday... and that perhaps some of the loss is muscle loss since I haven't been running this whole semester... but that's a pretty drastic drop for me. Any inputs? It may just be my lack of edible food in this unlabeled diet I'm on, or all the fish I eat ... but it's just strange... I still do my occasional fast food and sugars.....

Does anybody have suggestions for the candida diet? I know no sugar... Sad

All opinions are welcome..

coheed... things that got me through 1 1/2 months on the candida diet were:
- fish, chicken, turkey
- salad leaves, tomoatoes
- veg
you can substitue tea and coffee for red bush tea which is a lot better for you anyway and make sure youre drinking lots of water.
you need to make up most of your lunches and evening meals with that really
what i found impossible were breakfat ans snaakcs... and the fact you have to prepare all of your foood, you cant just go out and grab a sandwich for lunch.
snacks that got me through the day were raw carrots, cherry tomatoes, oat cakes with cottage cheese on...
its so hard becasue of the fruit and bread, if u could eat that it'd pretty ok to do. i recommend the book 'beat candida cookbook' by erica white.. contains lots of candida diet recipies.
i tried made several versions of bread allowed on the diet... but it was so much hassle and thery wernt that enjoyable. and of course the diet wont work on its on, you need to take strog anti fungals and colon and liver cleanses.

i was wondering of anyone gets w weird feeling when they eat something unhealthy... i get almost a burning/sweating in my face and i just feel weird. i had a cup of coffee a few weeks ago and i just felt so weird after, also yesterday i had a bag of crisps/potato chips and i got the same feeling. it sometimes happens when i drink orange juice or eat raw cheese too.

thankyou Helpwanted, I'll definitely look into that book.. such a limited diet.. I doubt I'll be abl to stick with it.

As for your reactions.... either it's a mental reaction, or you probably truly have some kind of allergy to something...

Sorry to hear you're having a hard time HW. Im just starting to realise how messed up my digestion is, it's the 'norm' for me now-all these stupid routines and food restrictions but when you compare it to someone healthy it makes you realise how bad it is. My husband for example can eat anything and everything. He goes to the toilet once a day-when he decides, he gets loads of wind but i've never heard him make the 'vibrations' noises and he could sit in silence at anytime, any place. Life is no fair!!!!!

I've never done the candida diet so im afraid i cant help but i only ever eat porridge for brekkie so im feeling your boredom!!

Go for it HW, we only get one shot at this life and it's too short not to try, you owe it to your self. I can promise you wont be sent for horrible tests-the worst you will get is a blood test which i know scares you but if you explain you're phobic they will really look after you while you're having it.

Before i was diagnosed with crohn's i literally couldn't eat anything, weighed 6 stone, had diaoreah every 30 minutes day and night and even with such severe symptoms it was 6 months before they sent me for the 'horrible tests'. They are very expensive so an nhs gp won't send you for them until it's absolutely necessary.

I know these noises are difficult to explain. I descibed them as 'digestive noises' which i think is quite a polite way of explaining it. The gp will probably have a feel of your tummy.

Just to update, my anaemia was misdiagnosed-i actually have low iron stores which just need topping up with more iron rich food, im not anaemic yet-thankgod! I couldnt have taken those iron tablets much longer!!

Anyway, good luck, take a deep breathe and go for it-you'll be so proud of yourself once you have and it really is true when they say the gp has 'seen it all before' xx

Hello friends
Wow, its amazing to see how long this thread is and how many people have posted in it. Its been said so many times but I'll say it again, for old times sake, its so good to know I'm not the only one Smile

Thanks to everyone who has contributed to this thread, it takes a massive weight off my shoulders just reading these posts and knowing that there are a whole bunch of people that know exactly what its like to live with this. I was seriously questioning whether I was the only one. I don't think people who haven't lived the embarassment of these uncontrollably loud stomach noises would understand how much it can disrupt your life. The embarassing quiet situations, the constant paranoia and anxiety, making excuses to avoid certain situations etc.

I haven't read the whole thread but someone said something about starting a website for this, did anyone actually do it?? I think it would be interesting to systematically compare common factors by getting people to contribute information about their health history. I know so many people will be looking this up on the internet because it can be embarassing to talk about.

A little bit about my abdominal history. I notice quite a few things in common with many people on this thread. I have had eating disorders in the past, and for the last 5 years particularly have had problems with candida overgrowth, gallstones, gas, food allergies. The noises have only become a big problem over the last 1.5 years, as they have progressively gotten louder and more frequent. I feel like the noises have a lot to to with my yeast overgrowth and liver/gallbladder congestion. Someone said something about stomach acid here too. I get two different kinds of noises. The first is all sorts of rumbling and poping noises in my lower abdomen. The second is the loud grumbling noises just under my rib cage, which happens when my stomach starts to churn and get really tight and spasm and it feels like there's a whole lot of stomach acid in there, like I need to eat, but I'm not necessarily hungry.

For me it feels like the noises are caused by muscle spasms and also air rumbling around my GIT. I really think it is caused by bacterial imbalance, especially yeast overgrowth in the liver and gallbladder. I think different therapies are going to work for different people, it just depends on your body. I eliminated sugar from my diet for a year and I think it was really helpful but I went back to eating lots of fruit and I don't think that was a good idea, evidently. At the moment I am doing a no sugar diet again and taking antifungal herbs and liver/gallbladder herbs, its helped a lot with the gas but not yet helped with the noises.

People here have said that they feel a lot of this is psychological/emotional. I believe those things are very powerful and play a big role in the cause and cure of health problems like this. Your attitude will either help you get worse or better. Please don't listen to anyone who tells you there is nothing you can do about this, there are no accidents in nature, everything in life responds to fundamental principles and laws. Don't let doctors or anyone make you feel powerless, I believe there is always a cure for every condition no matter how intractible it seems. If there is a reason why we got this way then there is way to heal it.

Lots of support
x Saskia

Helpwanted, Pix is right, you'll be happy you finally made it to a doctor, but for the reinforcement, we're here for moral support Smile Let us know how it goes, I still haven't made my way there yet.

Saskia, something you said is interesting, mentioning the gallbladder. I had an offhanded conversation with a doctor recently, and mentioned how the other day I had a sort of "diahrrea" episode that lasted two days, and would have crippling paint and nausea from my lungs to my abdomen for minutes to hours before anything happened. When I mentioned that it was almost completely undigested food coming back (from almost a full day earlier.. clearly something is going wrong), they suggested that it was a gallbladder malfunction. Somewhere along the way, and this is all just a possibly theory as much of this thread has been, my gallbladder may not be producing the correct amounts of acid, ether too much, too little, not enough... maybe wrong timing, etc. etc.

This would also account for my daily exhaustion and always being tired, if the food is not being digested correctly, I'd be missing mass amounts of nutrients. That would also possibly account for the weight loss.

So, thankyou for contributing to this thread, sorry to see you on it though.. but it is a relief to know that more people are finding this helpful. I still plan one day to compile a book from this forum alone and present it to someone who cares.

Thanks Coheed, I'm glad to contribute. You're right it does sound like you may have some gallbladder distress there. I've read that you can have a whole lot of yeast overgrowth stored in your gallbladder when you have stones in there because the yeast hides inside the stones. I know from an ultrasound (and lots of pain) that I have multiple stones, so go figure. Also my noises got worse all of a sudden when I started doing GB/liver flushes and I read on the curezone liver flush forum someone else saying they were experiencing loud stomach noises after a flush. After eating a high sugar meal I would sometimes get a lot of gas literally rumbling out of my liver gallbladder chest area. I always wondered whether i just needed to do more flushes but didn't want to make things worse so I'm taking a stone breaking herb instead called chanca piedra.

Help Wanted - yes i have seen my GP twice and told them that i had been suffering from embarassingly loud abdominal noises, which had appeared to be getting more frequent lately. They just put it down to IBS. Good luck with your appointment, i hope it helps. I'd be interested to know how you get on.

Just to let you know that since cutting down on sugary and fermented foods in my diet, my stomach noises have improved quite drastically. I have been sipping water throughout my lectures and making sure that i never get hungry, and thankfully i have been feeling a lot better. But what i have noticed is that whenever i do decide to visit starbucks for a hot choc and a cake, or enjoy a tub of Ben & Jerry's ice cream at the cinema - my stomach goes mad about an hour later. The noises get really loud. I have done this a few times just to see what will happen, trying ice cream, choc, cheesecake etc, and every time i get the same loud gurgling/whining/popping noises which last a good few hours sometimes. Does this make any sense??

sugary and fermemnted foods are 2 of the worst things to eat if you have candida becasue it loves them... maybe the noises are the candida once theyve been feD? i just dont know

hello all, so i finally did it after years of trying.. i went to the doctor. althoguth didnt have the blood tests so the worst is still to come. basically i explained about my anxiety, chronic fatigue and general unwel feeling. i got out as much about my stomach as i could.. said it was very noisey and unsettled and worse when i lay down, and trouble with going to the toilet in any consistent way and described the bloating and how my food just seems to sit in my stomach.
she was sympathetic and seemed keen to tackle my anxiety, but as for the stomach..she had a little feel around and yeh you guessed it...IBS. i can see why she thinks thats what it is but i know theres a lot more to it than that so im not going to take it as a final diagnoses. HOWEVER, its a starting point, at least she now has some idea of my problems. next week im going back for some blood tests... to check.. thyroid, anemia, ferretin, coelias and some others, so hopefully i can treat any other illnesses i have, and elimnate possible causes of the stomach trouble. im also going to ask to get my hromones checked as i suspect this could be a cause also.
im absolutly DREADING the blood tests, but i slightly proud of myself for going today, i dont knwo how ill get through it but i have to. once ive treated the other physcal problems illl hopefully have more strength to fight the noises and fingers crossed ill have got over my fear of tests and doctors so i can look into further investigations.
How is everyone doing?
