Thats terrible Growl Gurl regarding your old G.I. I have my appointment on Wednesday, I hope everything goes alright.

Ok my progress so far is not really much progress lol. This is my fifth day taking ParaGone. The only thing is that I feel weak at times and get a pain in my abdomen. The noises are somewhat reduced but not completely gone. I have not seen anything else in my stool lately though. I will continue to take it though.

yes, keep taking it. You might be having die-off where the parasites are dying but leaving toxins. Are you drinking lots of water? What about taking probiotics? The first week was the worst for me. Lots of movement..After 10-14 days, you should see a difference.

Good luck at your doctors appointment.

Thanks GrowlGurl

Today I passed out this strange looking white stringy stuff in my stool. I think it could be some worm or something, it was gross, it freaked me out so much.

Yes I am drinking 8 or more glasses of water a day and I regularly take yogurt as well.

Hi again.

The last few weeks have been *better* for me. I've managed to get through class (sitting in the back, isolated, of course Crying or Very sad ) with....*drumroll*...snickers bars. For some reason, they really seem to work for me. I eat half a snickers before class, and my noises are minimal to none for a good hour or two. I sometimes also take a tums smoothie before class, and that helps alot.

...which leads me to my next point.

I've had alot of succes in the past with tums smoothies (an acid reducer), and I DO have a history of Acid Reflux. I was diagnosed with it when I was 18 (I'm 22 now). I know there's been alot of discussion on here about stomach acids lately, and I think that DEFINATELY plays a major role in this. Does anyone else notice sounds when they eat an orange/drink orange juice? I do. bigtime.

Anyway, that's a little update from me. Snickers bars tums smoothies have helped me get through this quarter somewhat ok. I have a midterm in 2 hours, so we'll see how it goes once again.

OK, you guys, I need some imput here. Has anyone heard of taking Coconut Oil.

Now, I am looking for a natural cure to my problem, and Candigone is the only thing that gets me back on track. But I want to find the thing that will keep me on track, I don't do well taking prescription drugs or drugs period. I just had to stop taking loratadine because I have a very touchy Seratonin level in my system and this was throwing it off. (if there is a side effect I will get it, in other words)

But I bought some coconut oil and did some reseach on it, look it up and its connection to canadia yeast, you will be surprised. Now tell me it is a cure all or could it be another well kept secret. Coconut Oil is also very high in 5 types of acid, and it is all natural.

I know, oh great another option. But if what Growlgirl has learned about Acid, could what I have read about the benefits of Coconut Oil and it's control of yeast overgrowth be true.

Comments, are more then welcome. (I am still down about this, not back on track yet, I am in denial, and to top it off, I got the winter time blues, which isn't helping.)

Coast, OJ used to make my stomach go historical until I did the series of Paragone. I don't have any trouble anymore.

Also, what is Tum smoothies?

Marre,
I have tried coconut oil in the past. I can remember that it helped, but I stop taking it because I read the "Eating for Your Blood Type" book. Which stated that cococut isn't good for my blood type.

I'm currently taking George's Aloe Vera Juice. I've read that it's good for GERD, ACID REFLUX, Gastris. I have been on it for about 5 or 6 days, I can't quite remember how long. The Jury is still out on it since it's too early.

Just a little update from me-having a mixed time lately. Very bad night couple of days ago, didn't sleep a wink and ended up in the spare room as the noises were beyond belief! However, been eating fish, veggies etc, since then and im bit more back on track. New tablet from the docotors is making no difference but i'll stick with it.

I've never tried coconut oil so please let us know how you get on marre. I have read how good aloe is meant to be though so worth a try i reckon although i don't seem to have any luck with natural remedies, they seem to make matters worse. G.G-does it upset your stomach at all all make your bowel movements loose?

S.S-try not to freak out when you see stuff in your stools, it's all natural however strange it might look! The white stuff could well have been mucas which lines all membranes when they're inflammed so maybe somethings irritating your digestive tract xx

Coast, I'm glad you found something that is helping you through the day at least, it's a good start.

Marre, I have heard of that as well, in place of other oils. Please let us know how all of that goes.

Growlgurl, I have Aloe Vera Juice, but I haven't been able to keep up on it, as I haven't gone food shopping in almost 2 weeks and have been living off of easy food.. pretty bad.

but I have been off of my antibitotics for over a month now, so I'm hoping that may help me to start turn around.

SS, do you feel like the Paragone is working for you then?

Also, I'm reading a book right now, that first off, reminded me of you, Jen. The book is from a patient who experienced almost fatal Chrones disease. His father was a natural remedy kind of doctor, and they traveled all over the world and the believes he tried almost 500 products between the doctors AND the natural remedies that we are all attempting to try..

He's a doctor now, and there is another doctor that writes from a second viewpoint - The reason I bring this up, is because the book is about ALL stomach problems and how doctors try to diagnose by the book because they cannot have much else to go on. My main focus on it, is going back to the "healthy" old diet that we were intended to be on. I'll keep reading, if I find that it helps me or makes more sense, I'll be sure to pass it on to you all. Hopefully I can find something great out of this.

and Good luck everyone else, keep trying Smile

OOOO, that sounds like an interesting read coheed, let us know if they suggest ANYTHING that we could try. I didn't know you were on antibiotics, how long have you been on them?

I've just done 30 mins of relaxation/meditation, it was lovely, i feel all floaty light! Am trying to do it everyday, makes no difference to the noises but i think its important to look after the mind as all this gets very stressful!

Hello everyon,

Sorry that I have been away, but it's just that I have been so busy with work and trying new things out. I am not taking Paragone and Candigone together and I think it works better this way. I needed to use the restroom or kinda use the restroom and the only thing that came out was mucous and it looked kinda cloudy and stringy. I know sometimes it makes more noises, but once I clean my bowls I tend to feel a bit better. I am also taking Milk Thistle, Spirinela (SP?), flax seed oil, garlic pills, super digestaway (thanks for that one), bentonite, grapefruit seed extract, grape seed extract, l-glutamine and some other things that I can not recall right now.

Growl thanks for the reasearch on GERD and Acid Reflux. I have to do some more research on that. I was reading earlier on people's PH level, but I had no idea that this might be our problems. I am going to start buying more Alkaline foods and see if that helps, thanks for the research. I also made an appointment yesterday to see a GI next Monday, so I hope that goes well. I will keep you guys posted on what he tells me.

In the meantime I will continue to take my pills and I will probably need to buy another box of Paragone and Candigone. I have to my noises have decreased than what they were like 4 month's ago. Sometimes I have a relapse, but it's like one somewhat loud noise every several hours and maybe some minor noises every so often. The only problem I have is being in a QUIET room for more than an hour. I can deal with be in a computer lab, because even the computer noises seem to drown out the minor noises in my stomach.

I have been on this Candida diet for a little over 2 months and I think this has been a great help, but now I will start to eat more of an Alkaline diet. I have been taking Paragone for about 2 months and I guess Candigone for several weeks.

I wish everyone the best and if I notice anything that helps I will come on here and post everything I learn. I am gonig to try to ask my GI a lot of questions and try to learn as much as I can. I'm pretty sure he should know, since the GI went to Northwestern, my friend who went there said they have a Great Med school, so I'm hoping this guy knows how to solve this problem.

Well best of luck to everyone and I'm sure we will figure out the answer to our problems. Take care, Eric

That sounds great for you Eric! Though, I cannot imagine what your day must be like with that many things to take! But, keep going, I'm glad you are finding success. I feel the same, that usually the noises are a result of having to use the bathroom, which.. I realized during an exam this morning. It only took 15 minutes to take though, so I got in.. got out, and was able to use the bathroom and realized that I felt great afterwards (haha, i feel like an old woman on one of those "regulative" commercials)

Jen, I am... SO ashamed to say that I have been on antibiotics for almost five years. But, I recently found something else to help my acne, and I have been able to pass up the vanity for health instead... So far, so good.

I also wanted to mention to you that I think the meditation is a great idea.. like you said, it may not help the noises, but if it can lessen the stress.. well then maybe it CAN help the noises some? Either way, I think it's a great idea.. I need to find the time.. I might get a Yoga dvd .. haha.

Anyway, I hope everyone has a good weeked... try not to slip up (I'm going to have pizza tonight ..)

jen, it could be mucus but I see little pod like things as well and I have a feeling that those are proglottis of the worm. I am trying not to freak out but after I started taking Paragone, everyday something whitish comes out in the stool

coheed, I think its definitely a step up from a week back so in that sense it is working I think, it clears my intestines out and sometimes when I am lying in bed I can ctually feel something unwinding in my stomach and I feel a bit better afterwards.

Ok everyone yesterday I went to my GI and surprise surprise the guy thinks its all in my head. He said to relax and eat whatever I want and says it is stress related, which could very well be, but somehow I dont buy it. I told him about my stool and the white things I see in it and he gave me such a dirty look that I was so embarassed of even saying anything. He quickly changed the topic afterwards and it was useless telling him further. I am never going back.

My analysis is that he is 50% correct in that I do get growls when I am nervous or stressed out, but I think I do have some parasites in my intestines that increase the pressure and the growls. Since taking Paragone and flax seed oil together, I have definitely seen a change for the better, but its not a 100% cure.

SS,

Not a GI, but I recently had one of my best friends tell me that he thinks it's not real, and that it is all in my head as well. Over break, my sister actually laughed at me when I tried to describe it. It's sad, huh?

I hate when they say that though. There's nothing .. THAT outlandish about having stomach issues. Over 40% - 50% of American's have stomach problems of some sort... and ironically, there's not set diagnosis for a single thing. And I mean that completely 100%.

There IS a point where you can know that your own body isn't reacting or doing it's best. There is absolutely NO doubt that stress plays a large role in it, of course. But telling us that ... and acting as if that is the sole solution is a real hit to our integrity I think. I didn't realize it was SO looked down on to think that... god forbid, we may actually be able to tell when we aren't healthy without a doctor's notice.

Now I'm all irked and annoyed. And it wasn't even me... I don't understand why this issue is so hard for people to accept as something genuine? It honestly makes no sense to me.. it's common... it has symptoms... it has results... it has causes... what's so insane?

RAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA! That's terrible SS, i had that alot before i was diagnosed with crohn's=it's all in your head, it's stress, it's normal. However, now i've got an official diagnosis i do yet taken seriously and i was so happy when my doctor actually listened to my problem and didn't make me feel crazy! Don't take it personally, we know how real this is-i'd llke them to try dealing with it for just one day then see them say its nothing!!!!

I'm raging on your behalf now too, it's so wrong!

PS, coheed, don't feel bad about the antibiotics, there's far worse things you could be taking! There's nothing vain about treating a problem that would massively damage your self esteem.

Also wanted to say well done eric, sounds like you're doing great!

Hello Everyone,

Growl, I really think the Acid Reflux could be a problem for some of us. I was also reading how Candida can trigger or may instigate problems with acid reflux. I was reading on one website, where a lady stated that her husband has Acid Reflux and that his stomach gurgles all the time. She also wrote that it's embarrassing to out with him in public, WE CAN RELATE. I was reading about Apple Cider Vinegar and how good this is for Acid Reflux. Here is a quote from somone on another site.

"Sandy from Sevierville, TN writes: "Thank you so much for your advice about ACV. I have been taking ACV with digestive enzymes and have hade IMMEDIATE and CONSISTENT relief from acid reflux. My regular doctor gave me Protonix, and the GI doctor gave me Zegerid. He did not listen when I said I wanted to make lifestyle changes and not take meds. He scoffed at ACV and could not believe something acidic could help with stomach acid. After lots of research, I have found the side effects and long term damage of acid pump inhibitor drugs are not the first choice. The ACV and digestive enzymes work GREAT! For intense acid, Dr. Andrew Weil recommends DGL, and I have found a product called VAXA helps reduce the acid and restore pH levels. I take a digestive enzyme and 2 tablesppons of ACV with juice before each meal. Be sure to get raw ACV with the "Mother" or its natural enzymes. I take the ACV pills when traveling. I have told family and friends of this wonderful and inexpensive relief. Thanks again for being there afer hours of online research and providing hope."

THANKS Sandy! Like we have all said it's always best to go natural and when I see my GI on Monday I will tell him I want to solve this naturally. I just drank a glass of water with a tablespoon of Apple Cider Vinegar and I feel fine. I can't say I feel any better or any worse. I will get back to you guys and let you know if this helps.

Growl I'm glad that you brought up Acid Reflux to the table. Thank you for your reseach. I was reading about eating Alkaline foods and you have to cut down on meats and eggs. If I'm on a Candida diet and a diet that is high in Alkaline foods, then I'm going to have a hard diet to keep with.

Coheed, I know how physical things can affect us and I know how much of a problem these stomach noises can be. I know one of my brothers friends owns a cosmetic laser company and some of the lasers he has can with acne problems. You may want to check this out as an alternative to taking pills. I hope this is of help to you, let me know if you would like some more information.

Sympathy, I am sorry to hear about what your doctor told you. The doctor I see on Monday BETTER NOT TELL ME THAT. I swear if I hear that I'm going to get SOO Mad. I guess I will continue to see a GI until one of the can figure out the problem. I hope the GI I am going to see is good and I will try to ask as many questions as I can.

Best of luck to everyone and I'm pretty excited about how we are trying to narrow our problems down.

hello guys. very interesting inputs on these GI problems. thanks for sharing... in addition to what has been shared, i think on a regular basis, we have to purge tke supplements that purge impurities from the body, eliminates impurities and nourish the blood, support a natural immune function, nourish and protect the colon with probiotics, cleanse and support the entire body and remove toxins.

this has helped me alot in maintaining a healthy GI.

Thankyou Jen... I guess it kind of got out of hand. Eric, I appreciate your help, and I hope I won't need it! Smile I don't have bad acne anymore really, my face is generally clear, but it was just that for a while I was getting the deep cystic kinds and I guess with how well the antibiotics cleared up my skin, I kind of got hooked and even the smallest acne looked horrendous to me .. just because I knew what I COULD have... I'm going to stick with ProActive for a while... but I will definitely keep your suggestion in mind!

Also Eric, have you decided to try the Apple Cider Vinegar? I'd like to see how that would help. The book I keep mentioning (but can't find time to read..) has also mentioned imbalances in acid vs alkaline... this is a great find growgurl! Thanks to both of you for the research on it.

and Rgq - I didn't understand your message for some reason. What sorts of things exactly have you been doing to stay healthy? We'd all appreciate any input Smile

Hey everyone,

Here is a quote I got from another web site.

"I've recently been seen for reflux and have been taking Prilosec for about 2 weeks. I'm noticing that I have to burp constantly and have a lot of stomach noises, including gas. This lasts continusously. Is this a possible side effect of Prolosec?"

Well I took a tablespoon of Apple Cider Vinegar last night and this morning with a glass of water. So far it feels like it's making things worse, but I don't know if that's a good sign. This morning I woke up with some pains in my stomach. I guess I'll stop taking it until I see my GI. I also have to go to some meetings at work and I don't want to really trigger my stomach. I have noticed I feel better after I take Paragone, Candigone, garlic pills and all my other stuff and then have a bowl of oatmeal. Once I eat this I try to use the restroom and I feel much better. I will try going back to this for the time being. I guess there are quite a few people with stomach problems, that are not on this site.

I will continue to do more research and see what else I can find. Good luck, Eric

Oh no, i've got to go to a charity auction on Friday-it's a big sit down meal and then the bidding. I just know my stomach will go crazy and everyone will hear! Im dreading it, keep imagining the worst possible scenarios but i'm determined to go, i can't really get out of it anyway. I just wish i could look forward to it and enjoy it like any normal person would!

My plan is to just have little snacks during the day and try to eat as little as possible while i'm there. If the worst comes to the worst i'll just have to excuse myself and hide in the toilet until the auction's over-cringe! I just keep telling myself that i will survive, i will get through it, it's not like i'll die or anything but i'm not listening to myself, do you think anyone has actually died of embarrasment??!!!!
