Thankyou very much for your support Jen, haha, I'm feeling better lately, but the anxiety hits me badly when classes start, so Im taking paragone just to keep THAT down at least.

It's good that you're facing your doctor, but I understand that stress that goes with it... It's why I avoid them! I know that you mentioned that you have a few side stomach stress that you are dealing with (on top of the stomach noises) that limit the things that you can try to help, but are you taking anything? Other than just changing your eating habits (though good job, regardless.. that is difficult to do) I mean?

How is everyone starting this new year?

And, I think we're pretty great too... haha

I'm doing *ok*. Actually, I'm having a great day today. Went to two classes and they both went smoothly, especially my second class. I ate a salad for lunch, and while it still left me a bit hungry, I didn't get the typical noises I usually get. I felt the "normal" hunger sounds start to build, but I ate a banana during class and it helped me get through with only a minor sound that I'm sure no one could hear. Oh, and I also took a tums smoothie before class...those really help digestion.

Congratulations to you too coast! You're both doing better than me, i just couldn't put myself through any type of quiet situation after lunchtime, i think the anxiety would kill me! I only work until lunchtime but today we had a suprise meeting for 1/2 an hour just as i was due to leave, my stress levels went through the roof, thought they might actually hear my heart pounding but i got through it-no noise, but it was only 30 minutes.

Coheed, im just doing the diet thing at the moment. Im on anti-inflammatories for my crohn's disease but have managed to come off all the other meds i was on for it. That's why i think this problem is unrelated. When i see the doctor im going to ask if it's safe for me to take probiotics and a digestive enzyme and im also going to ask if we're doing any damage by cutting out carbs (not that i think we are, but just to be sure). The probiotics didn't seem to agree with me when i tried them.

How's things with your girlfriend coast? Are you feeling anymore comfortable around her or things the same?

I tell you something, i don't get as much noise at night when im trying to get to sleep and i've even fallen asleep on my back a couple of times this week (i find lying on my front muffles the noises but it's uncomfie sometimes when you're bloated). So that's a plus!! I think eating less in the evening helps. God, as much as i enjoy my food, it's becoming a real chore, having to think 'is this ok to eat', 'i shouldn't eat that'. My husband bought some cream cakes yesterday, i put mine in the freezer like a good girl but i swear they're shouting my name! I WILL RESIST!!

That's great, coast. I'm so very sick of salad..haha. It just never really feels like eating.

Jen, when I take probiotics, I don't react that well sometimes either I think. I tend to have stomach pains a bit more often. I feel like maybe that's a good thing, and that maybe if I'm consistent with them then I'll get back on track a bit. I've cut my antibiotic meds in half... I guess I'll just try to get some in Yogurt. Also, I found that honey that you mentioned, but for a small jar here, it's thirty dollars!

Eric, do you eat the DanActive yogurts or the Activia ones?

Ah, I didn't want to write back so soon, but i had a terrible day in my night class! I did FINE last semester at the same time, but for some reason tonight I was getting constant low vibration rumbles on my left side and middle, near the bottom, and the loud squeaking of course and all.. and that decompressing stomach feeling I get, and i didn't even have gas, it was terrible though. My anxiety went soaring, and my heart felt like it was being electroshocked into hypertension! It happened last week too, once.

Sad I've lost a bit of my optimism now... and am trying to put together a good grocery list for myself...

I hope you are all doing a bit better than I am right now.

Oh Coheed, im so sorry you've had to go through that but at least you tried, as i said before, i avoid ALL situations like that after dinner time so you are very brave to put yourself through it! Did you manage to stay until the end of the class and how did the people around you react? I know this is a daft question as im sure you've though of everything but is there anything you ate or did differently?

You must remember that just because this has happened now it doesn't mean that you wont be ok in that situation ever again. You had a bad experience, you got through it. You're trying so hard. Just right last night off-it went terribly, it's over now. I wish i could give you a big hug. Gosh, i know what you must have gone through-it's just the worst. xxxxx

PS, im not doing too much better, haven't had to be in any 'situations' but the noises are as loud as ever, don't think this low carb diet is working. Well, my doctors appointment is next monday so fingers crossed!

Thankyou so much Jen, you have no idea (or maybe you do) how nice it is to have your sympathy! All I could think about was how I wish I was in like a Special Ed. class for people like me, and writing on here.. ha.

I DID manage to stay until the end of class... although I squirmed around uncomfortably in the back for a good hour of it, then I finally left for a break because i couldn't stand it, I went to the bathroom but it didn't help. Nobody HEARD it I think, because my teacher is pretty loud, and I always sit in the very end... but I'm sure if it was a dead quite class they could have heard ( I had flashbacks from some of my past experiences where they DID hear ).

Well, i hadn't eaten much that's different ... except.. OH i don't know why i didn't think of this! The healthfood store that I got my Renew Life Enzyme from ran out and restocked a similar product of their OWN and i've been using that instead since about school began (two weeks). I wonder if perhaps that is having a negative effect? It's never a daft question, I'm sure we all try to eat accordingly, but it's so hard to tell sometimes just what you're eating.

I went to the healthfood store and stocked up on SO much stuff. And some things that I have been eating for the past two days are (that I feel are helping):

bye Nature's Way: Alive!
- It's a drink with ALL sorts of stuff in it that's good for you, like natural vitamins, which I always forget to take. It's expensive, but you only take about a shot a day, which I mix with Pomegranate/Vegetable Juice. Doesn't taste fantastic, but it's not intolerable.

- a DIFFERENT digestive Enzyme that has Fennel in it which I hear so much about.

- Fennel and Peppermint Tea... it's relaxing for your stomach

- Cheese substitute. It's wierd.. but I like it? Haha..

I got all of these off a leaky-gut website, which they SEEM to associate very much so with candida treatment as well...

Is anyone else still following the no-carb diet? Jen, what CAN you eat on a diet like that? Do you have to follow other diet restrictions as well? And again, thankyou so much for your words, they really made me smile! I didn't think I could find a reason to smile in a situation like this, it's remarkable how much someone's encouragement can help. So, again.. thankyou.

Hey All,
I have not been on here in a while. Over the Christmas break I began the candigone treatment...and finished it a few days ago--wihtout any change. I did/do not think that I have candida. I have also cut out gluten without any change as well. Has anyone else found any luck with any other treatment or diet or something? I have class everyday and the noises are just far too embarassing especially now that we are taking our finals for class--and the rooms are entirely quiet. I have always followed a pretty healthy diet--not really any junk food, more healthy home-cooked meals ..and now that I have tried the guten-free diet for quite some time now I dont think that it is celiac either. I have also been taking the Super Digestaway and probiotics..I dont know what else to try and I on top of worrying about tomorrows exam I have to worry that I will be in a single class for 3 hrs trying to avoid anyone hearing this grumbling.

I wanted to also say that I have been trying to listen more and pinpoint where the noise is..and I am pretty sure it is the stomach..I get this uncomfortable "dropping" feeling with the noises..and then sishing and gurgling and general discomfort and an upset "churn-y" feeling.

Please respond with anything that can help me..
Hope everyone else is doing better.

btdbb26 I guess I would suggest being tested for candida. If you call the company that makes candigone they will tell you it takes more than one treatment to clear your intestines of the candida living there. I know that is not what you want to hear but, if you think about it, it probabaly took awhile to grow there.

I like everyone else wishes there was a quick fix, a pill to take everydat that would make it go away and stay away for ever. I myself am having a relaspe of it, and have been treating it, and it is getting better.

I just know that life without this problem is so much more enjoyable.

Your welcome coheed, i've been there so many times, trying to cope on my own and it's terrible. Now that my mum knows, she encourages me and makes me feel like im not a dreadful, weak person who can't cope so i know how far a few kind words can go and i genuinely mean what i say.

I think, for me, this is something i've just got to live with-i think it's part of the crohn's as i've been on some websites and a lot of people complain of these noises but then im not ill at the moment so i don't understand why i'm still getting them-what a pickle!!

Whatever is causing this i don't think there's a quick fix-as marre says. I think any changes to our diets need to be given alot longer than a few days or even a few weeks, it's just so hard to persevre!

I think im going to ask for food intolenace testing for my birthday, it's £250 but i might try and get it on the NHS first-it's a lot of money!

On a positive note, i had a good day today. Did a full 8 hours in work and was luckily not trapped in the office so i really enjoyed the day and didn't feel uncomfortable-i sometimes think i should find a new job, one somewhere noisy , but where??? Motorway maintainence? Not quite my cup of tea!!

jen07 I should say that my statement about a pill for a quick fix was made sarcasticly, I know there is no such thing. Diet is the answer, and I know that, but sometimes I get sick of watching everything all the time. It gets depressing, and even more depressing when the sounds come back.

I just have to get back on track and things will be fine again.

Sorry marre, it sounded like i was correcting you, i got that you were being sarcastic, i should have written 'as marre says, there is no quick fix'. Damn computers, they always twist your words! Smile

I've just eaten 2 cream doughnuts, yep TWO! I don't care, it's friday and they were bloody lovely!! There'll be rumblings tonight! Anyway, back to being healthy, note to self:must try harder!

btbdd26, how did the exam go? 3 hours is a crazy length of time to have to sit in silence!! Hope you got through it ok .

I feel like crying so bad right now.

This all started when I took an invertebrate zoology course in my sophomore year of college. I remember feeling uncomfortable and then it went downhill.

In my next semester I took this music course where there were about 120 of us and we all sat in a very large classroom. I remember liking someone back then and that nervousness of being around that person might have contributed a bit cause my stomach started making these noises and it was not just my stomach but my lower abdomen and especially my butt area, gurgling noises came from my rectal area and I felt so embarrassed. I tried moving things around, shifting my desk, checking my schoolbag again and again just as a distraction. Then one time I remember there was a person playing the clarinet in the middle of the room and then all of a sudden my body let out this huge noise, everyone looked at me and my teacher laughed at me. I feel so emotional whenever I think about it, I dont know how I survived Crying or Very sad I dont know how I survive each and every day Crying or Very sad . I have no social life left because I feel so depressed and nervous thinking about what would happen if I went out with my friends, I try and skip my classes or leave the room in the middle of lecture at times and cry in the bathroom. It has become so bad that sometimes at my work, which is in a pin drop silence setting, I have to go to the bathroom and actually punch myself in my abdomen to stop it. I feel like killing myself at times, I hate my life Crying or Very sad .

I am very happy though that I discovered this forum and all you people like me. I thought I was the only one. People think its funny and my family thinks its just normal, but they dont know what i go through everyday, everyday I have thoughts of suicide because of this. I try to workout but I have not gained much muscle, maybe because of this. I go to the doctor and he says its nothing and then prescribes this anti spasmatic medication which does nothing for me and increases my bloating.

After reading all these pages of this forum I went out to the vitamin shoppe and bought the super digestaway and flax seed oil. It gives me some hope in this sad sad life. I dont know if I should also get paragone and/or candidagone cause I dont know what my real problem is.

Thank you to all of you for the recommendation

I will keep updating my progress(hopefully) after taking those two things I mentioned.

[quote="sympathy silhouette"]I feel like crying so bad right now.

Hello everyone,

Sorry for not being on here, but it's just that I have been busy with work and running errands. Well now what I am doing is taking Candigone in the morning and taking paragone in the evening. Today I took both together and I felt pretty good. I notice that after I take Pau de Arco and Zinc pills my stomach starts to tumble, but I think it's a good think, maybe trying to kill bad bacteria.

Coheed, I have been taking the Activa Yogurts. I eat like 2 or 3 a day, but only on the weekends. I noticied that my tummy sometimes rumbles after taking that. Some people have mentioned that certain things give them chest pains and this has also happened to me. When I first started taking Probiotics I started to get chest pains and now I can take like 6 pills a day and I really don't feel anything. I hate to sound like I overdose, but sometimes I take like 25 pills a day. I usually try to keep it to like 10-15 pills a day.

I have to say my stomach noises have decreased then what they were like 4 months ago.

Like Marre stated, this is going to take a while to fix. I mean as Marre stated there is no quick fix. I myself would be in line to get pills if there was a quick fix and I wouldn't care how much they cost. This process will take months of having a healthy diet and taking supplements. I have been on this diet for like 2 months. It's a hard diet to keep on and I have broken it every now and then haha Jen.

My stomach noises are not that bad, if I was to go the movies I would not have a problem. My stomach noises can be heard if it's in a quiet office room (meeting) or in a tight classroom setting like a seminar.

I will start looking for a doctor to go to so that I can get tested for Candida.

Sympathy, sorry to hear your story, I have also been in the same boat. At one point I never wanted to go out and I would just sit indoors all depressed. Everyday in class I was the one that sat in the back and I always tried to isolate my self. Sometimes I would sit in the back corner chair and place my backpack in the next seat so that nobody would sit next to me. Sometimes I would cough to act sick, so people wouldn't sit next to me.

Having these problems really sucks, but I mean it's not worth ending your life for these problems. I mean there are lots of things you can do that do not require you to be in a quiet place. Try looking into opening a business, where you can run things. I know I was going to look into an import business with one of my friends. My parents also own citrus farms in another country and I was trying to do research on how to export them.

Owning income property is also a great way to become independent. My parents own some income properties and I'm also trying to get into the same thing.

There are also a lot of jobs out there that do not require you to be in quiet places all the time. If you were to get a job with a small group of people, then it's not too bad, because they can learn to accept it. I know I have met several other people with stomach noises and we all feel the same about it.

There are plenty of other people that have this problem and we should not feel like outsiders. I think that we should just work harder and do things that we want to do and work at fixing this problem. I know I am determined and I'm hoping that my stash of pills will help me.

I also get some noises around my rectal area. I have read that this could be due to Candida, which is like a yeast infection. I'm more than sure this is my problem and as I have read this is something that takes like atleast 4 months to solve and that it can come back.

I mean I lived an unhealthy lifestyle for 4 years, while in school, so I shouldn't complain about having to eat healthy for 4 or 5 months. Everyone has to learn to be patient and find out what may be wrong with them and get checked with a doctor. Welll sorry for the long message and I hope everyone is doing well.

eric its so nice to hear from you and everyone here that can understand my problem and know what its like to go through life with this horrible problem. People like you and others on this forum give me so much more hope.

Yesterday I started my "treatment" with the Digestaway and Flax Seed oil and I have to say that so far the noises have reduced. They are not completely gone but I feel more comfortable. Also I noticed that when I went to the bathroom, usually after a noise, I saw little white things pod like things in there. Shocked It could be my imagination I dont know after reading this forum, or maybe I never paid attention before, but I am noticing these small things. I think this could pinpoint to an infection from a parasite and I think I should get Paragone. I have an appointment with a GI this week so I will let you all know how it goes, but I am slowly thinking that its a parasite.

update
hello all,

Sorry I haven't posted in a while, but I'm still working feverishly to solve this growling noise problem.

I took the candigone for almost 2 weeks and saw no difference at all in the noises. They seemed to have gotten worst. I quit taking the candigone.

I then started taking a probiotic called Healthy Start by Natrens and a digestive enzyme called "Essential Enzymes" by natures source. I was having good results with both of these until I ran out of the probiotic. I substituted the "Health Start" with another priobiotic I had in the refrigerator. I started getting massive gas. I was on the substituted probiotic for about a week. I went to buy "Healthy Start" and within 3 days gas and noises were subdued A LOT!

I went for a colonoscopy and endoscopy and the doctors said that I had GERD. I don't get heartburn so I was like.....huh? I was also diagnosed with IBS. The doctor prescribed me a PPI(Proton Pump Inhibitor) drug called aciphex. What this drug does is that it stops the proton enzyme from making stomach acid. Yep that's right. All of our bodies could be making too much stomach acid and throwing our ph level off.

I'm very skeptical when it comes to doctors and I don't take their word as golden without doing research. Anyway, my stomach started making noises at work on friday. I went to empty my bowels and sit back down and the noises continued. I had sample Aciphex in my purse. I took one and that was the end of the noises for the day. Not only that the pill took care of the hunger noises too.

Anyway, I was reading online how you should only take these PPI drugs for no more than 8 weeks and could cause more problems. I have only taken one and don't plan to take anymore, instead, I'm looking for a natural remedy to balance my stomach acids.

I think our problem is too much stomach acid. We need to focus on making our bodies more alkaline. Eating foods that are alkaline to balance our ph levels.

Also, I have purchased over the counter, ZANTAC 750mg. This is an acid reducer and it's a lot safer than the PPI drugs. Zantac don't block the Proton enzyme from pumping acid, it reduces the stomach acid.

Again, if you don't hear from me for a while, it's just that I'm busy finding a solution.

Good Luck everyone...

BTW...too much stomach acid irritates the intestinal lining and duodenum of the small intestines. Which can produce the gurgling noises.

I was BETTER with paragone, but still no cure. I'm seeking a cure. I took 3 boxes of paragone and it was great, but, it's too expensive to keep taking and not having a cure.

Again, I'm seeking a cure. Don't get discourage because I'm able to eat of lot of foods after I took the paragone that I wasn't able to eat prior to paragone.

I'm trying quite a few things. It seems like everything I try works for a while but then my body gets immuned to it and stops working.

Try zantac 750 mg before meals to see if it helps. Zantac is Over the counter and it's cheap. You can buy samples at any dollar store.
