No Normal Sleep In Last 12 Months Posted: 10-24-04 03:40am
A year ago I started working a 2-10pm
shift on a computer help desk. After
about a month I was not going to bed till
after 2 am, and it got worse from there
over time. 3, 4, 5 am I was not tired.
I was very wound up from working so late.
I would fall asleep and then sleep 6-8hrs
into the day and go to work, come home
late. This became a vicious cycle.
After a few months of this bad sleep habit
I went to the Dr. He gave me a pill to
take called ambian. I have since not ever
fallen asleep with out this pill. But
like all drugs you body over time builds
immunity to it. It seems to work now in
waves. Sometimes I will fall asleep
inside of the hour I take the pill, other
nights the pill has no effect. I have
tried to get off it but it is almost habit
forming. So here is my problem. It has
been 12 months since I slept without any
drug form. I no longer work that job. I
was laid off, over the summer. Now I
suffer from depression, being out of work,
$ issues, ( a plate full of stress) and of
course serious insomnia. Any suggestions
to get me going straight again. I miss
sleeping, napping. I also notice the more
computer jobs I work the more my eyes tire
and dry out. I feel at times my blood
pressure is high. I can feel presser in
my head, not like a headache but like an
over filled tire. I don’t know what to
about it anymore. Any help?
