Q: Birth Control Affecting Sex

Since I started using the nuva ring about four months ago, my husband and I don't have sex as much, mainly because it is so much more of a mess than before. The birth control makes the cervical mucus thicker so the sperm can't meet up with the egg. This makes his cum come right out so we have to get cleaned up before having sex again, but that usually kills the mood because it is a bit gross. Has anyone else had this problem using nuva ring or similar birth control? It is really frustrating me - we used to have sex several times in one go before I got on birth control. We don't want to go back to just using condoms and counting days, so any help is appreciated.

Have you considered having sex in places where it would be easier to clean?? Maybe you could do it once in the shower, clean off real quick, and go into the bedroom for round two??
