So Tired
Posted: 10-22-04 07:24am

Brooklyn hasnt slept very good the last 3 nights. I dont understand why. She was starting to get on a schedule of 2:30 and 5:30 feedings and sleeping the rest. But now when I put her down, she starts fussing within 5 minutes and then when I pick her up, she either falls right back asleep, or shes wide awake, but either way, shes only happy in my arms. She doesnt seem to like laying on her back, if I put her on her side she will stay asleep a little longer. I just dont understand why, and im getting so stressed not getting any sleep.

Hey dom is 11 weeks and its still that way. Nothing is wrong either lol thats just how it is. I used to think that i'd like let him cry it out but n ot no more it only makes things worse . I told eric he has to pick at leas 2 nights a week cuz hes been slackin like I work all day come home , cook , clean take care of dom and dom still gets up twice at night to eat. Right now its 830 am I been up with him since 730 am thats when dom starts his day. Plus he got up at 330 am to eat and then 630 am. It suxs I know but really the only thing I can tell u that I wish I would have done while I still wasnt working... Sleep when the baby sleeps! I never did that and now that im workin again its hard to just up and take a nap. So like I said for ur sanity really really get some sleep. ~ erica.

But the thing is, that this isnt her normal behavior. Its weird, and I dont understand why it would go throu8gh such a drastic change. Im starting to wonder if shes sick.I dont know if I will know when she is sick and needs to go to the doctor.

I'm sorry things aren't going as planned Sad but look at it this way...It can only get better from here Smile you should not be putting her on her back, her side is best, so maybe that will help a little. Try to let her fuss as much as you can, because that's how they get used to schedule. I know it is hard to hear them cry, but it is best. Hope you get some more sleep!

I'm feeling crappy (i'm sick and so are all the kids)! I hope to feel better soon, cuz i'm afraid it is hurting the baby Sad

Try not to worry right away. We kept sayin awww dominic is soo good he never cries ya well we jinsked ourselves she will change week by week. And u will know when she is sick just watch her and trust your motherly instict. If u still feel nervous about it take her to her doc but im like 99% sure its just her personality startin to come out thats all. ~ erica.

She doesnt really actually cry unless shes really pissed, like shes really hungry, or she really really wants to be picked up. She just fusses, like she makes very unhappy gruntin and fussing noises, not an actuall cry, so alot of the time I wake up and I can make myself fall back asleep and hope that she comforts herself, but usually it just gets worse and worse until shes crying, and then there is almost no way im gonna be able to get her back to sleep. When I try to lay her on her side she always rolls herself over onto her back and then she wakes up, I dont want to use a blanket or anything to prop her up cuz im afraid she might find a way to suffocate herself.

They sell wedges that are used to keep baby on their side. Look for one of them Smile

Hey this one girl I knew, would wrap her daughter real snug in a blanket, so the baby would feel like if shes being cuddled and she slept perfectly. Cuz they get used to being in your arms and love sleeping that way. I know I once watched hope for a week and I would lay forever holding her as she slept. Either that or try soft music while she sleeps.

Hun, I think I know what it might be!
Ur breastfeeding right??? Well try n think of something different u ate lately... Cuz if u eat something baby dont like, she'll be up alllll night!!!! This has happened to me a couple times when I ate chocolate, or donuts, or drank pop (has lotsa caffeine in it.... Pepsi, coke,.. All I can drink is 7-up or sprite)
but it sounds like its somethin ur eating..... Give it a day n stay away from pop, sweets, chocolate n see what happens...

Its onion rings!!! Lol im so dumb... I forgot onion rings are onions! Babys dont like onions!!! caca, I ate a couple of kevins today too. I know that chocolate doesnt bother brooklyn, but alot of soda thats high in caffine does. I havent eaten much chocolate, and I never drink caffine... I drink chocolate milk, iced tea, and juice... Lol seriously its all I drink. Once in awhile I will treat myself to a can of mountain dew (which hasnt bothered her yet)... But yea, the only thing out of the ordinary that I ate was the onion rings. Would pizza do it? I ate alot of pizza the last couple of days. Mmmhhhh pizza.... Im so hungry for pizza latley.

Onion rings sounds like it! Bu as for pizza, did it have pepperoni or anything on it? Cuz sometimes if u eat enough of it, it can get a lil spicy for the baby and give the babe indigestion. Well at least now u know what it is and how to prevent it! I hate when that happens to me and I eat somethin bad and shes up allll night lol!
