Q: What Is This About?

Hello people. There is sth wrong with me and I wonder whether if any of you guys experience it. I am 28 now and it started when I was 13. When I get bored or I get stressed or I cannot sleep at night, I start counting the syllables of song lyrics, of the sentences people talk to me, even the sentences I tell people. I try to find out if the total number of syllables is odd or even. If it is odd, I repeat it in my mind, and it gets even. (two times an odd number is even). Doing this I also move my chin very slightly to right and left, so that it is easier to find out if the sentence finishes with odd or even number of syllables.
It is very annoying, sometimes I can hardly concentrate what people are talking about.
What is this guys, any idea?

Extremely eHealthy
I put the letters into pairs when watching tv, talking etc - it can get really out of hand & it is ocd, you may find that you have other sympotms as well - go to google and type in ocd (obsessive compulsive disorder) and do some research.

Definitely ocd. I have it too, tho I don't do the syllables. I have "made up" spasms in my arms and legs. Yeah, weird I know. Anyways, yes we "do have all of our little odd quirks" yet youve gotta draw the line somewhere. When you start to feel like this thought/feeling is always in your mind and that you are constantly thinking about it whenever reminded then that is when you can safely call it obsessive compulsive disorder. However, you can try to cure it without seeing a doctor, although it is extremely hard. Ive done it...But my mom reminded me of my little quirk and I just started it back up again a month ago and im about to kill my mother.

Good luck
