Firstly; i'm curious as to whether or not you had a period while on the pill. Usually, you'll experience bleeding once you finish the 21 days. Even on the type that is taken continually for 28 days, the last 7 days are just placebos to keep up the "habit".
Have you been taking the continual dose to actually prevent your period from coming? This, I thought, was a very newly accepted practice and I wouldn't have thought it would have been an option 8 months ago or longer.

Anyway....

A couple of suggestions;
first, speak to your doctor. They may give you progesterone to "kick start" your cycle, so to speak. This doesn't address or remedy a lack of ovulation. That's a different issue.

Another option may be to take vitex (aka chaste tree berry). This is an herbal hormone regulator and many women find they get positive results from it. Remember that it may be a few months before changes are noticed.

I hope this helps.

If you're taking epo and are trying to get pregnant, please remember you must stop taking it after ovulation every month (once your periods resume, of course). Epo causes uterine contractions that "can" interfere with implantation so is not recommended during the luteal phase.

While I have not seen any information that would indicate that epo would be an herbal choice for restarting absent periods, it is a hormone regulator so it may help. It's generally used for pms symptoms and as a treatment for rheumatoid arthritis, as well.

I have to say, 8 months is an unusually long time for your periods to be absent. The range is generally 3 - 6 months in those that experience ammenohrea after pill use. If your menses don't resume in a short while, I would ask to see an ob/gyn (assuming you're not already).

Good luck and I hope everything goes back to normal for you soon.
