I have only been on ortho tri cyclene (trinessa) for almost 2 months and my period is late. These are the first birth control pills I have ever been on so this is all completely new to me. Is your period supposed to start on your first day of the green pills? Mine hasnt started yet and I am on the third day of them; I have been getting cramps, but not the real thing. Is it late because my body is still adapting to the pill? I have not had unprotected sex, so I guess I am just kind of worried. Usually when you first get perscribed to the pill, there is a little fact sheet that tells you about the pill (so I have been told), but I have never received anything that tells me about the pill. I guess I am kind of clueless.

If you have any advice please write back!

You'll probably get it around the 3rd of 4th inactive (in your case, green) pill. It's different for everyone but it should come on the inactive pills, regardless. Never few people get it on the first inactive pill. When you first start it's not uncommon to miss a period so don't worry if you do.

I am on ortho tri cyclen and my period usually starts on the 4th day of the green pills and used to last until the 2nd day of the new pack, however, over the years, my period now stops on the first day of the new pack. One thing to watch out for while taking this pill is weight gain and an overall sence of bloatedness. I have have those anyway. I loved that this pill made my periods so regular, but I hate that over 5 years i've gained 25lbs even tho i've been exercising and changed my eating habits to a more healthy lifestyle.
