Migraine Question! Need Ur Help!!!
Avatar
At this moment I have a migraine, i've had it since last night. My mother says I am getting them because I have an hormone inbalance. One of her friends daughters has it, she says that a day or so before she gets her period she gets really bad migraine headaches. Yesterday I got my headache and today I have my period and I still have a headache. This has been happening for a while now. Do you think I could have a hormone inbalance??

I get headaches just before and during the first day or two of my period a lot. I take excedrin or excedrin migraine and it works really well. Goodluck.

It's not necessarily an "imbalance" as it is probably just the changes in your hormones that take place around the time of your period... They may be refering to a temporary imbalance of hormones. I agree to try excedrin migraine (although since it has caffeine in it, it can keep you awake if you are about to go to bed). If that doesn't work.. See a doctor for a prescription medicine that you can take if you know it's coming on.

Hey there.I get menstrual migraines. They worsened when I was on the pill, especially the last year.I use maxalt mlt.It is a wafer that melts on your tongue,so you can take it even if you are nauseous. It works great and is not a narcotic,so you are not "out of it".Good luck to you and hope you find something that works for you.Patty
