Is this disease really transient. I keep reading medical posts that eventually your immune system suppresses it so much that it is not traced or eliminates it totally. Yet from reading other people's post it seems like it is a lifelong disease that you need to adjust to. Can anyone help me out here?

Doctors really have mixed answers on hpv. Some doctors think your body can fight it off. Others believe that you have it forever even though it is not active. A lot of people from what I have read, have warts, get them treated and never have them again. And others get them treated and they return often. It just depends on your body. Everyones body is different. It is just good to take care of yourself while you have it. Eat well, take vitamins and you can also break open vitamin e caps and rub it on the areas where warts have appeared to keep them from comming back. You have to think of hpv as cold sores which is a form of herpes, you get cold sores on your mouth, sometimes you get them once a year twice a year. Sometimes you go years without getting it. It just depends on your body.
