Q: Pre-menstrual Cramping While On Pill

I've been on the pill for over 6 weeks, and the first pack went by like nothing.

For a while, i've been feeling pain on the left side of my pelvis...No big deal, probably a pulled muscle. Then I got it on the right side...Okay, maybe another pulled muscle. But just today, for about 4 hours, I got what felt like a less severe menstrual cramp.

I can easily tell when I have the pains off to the sides, but this was a full-on frontal pain...It felt more like pressure than pain.

................

I'm not having sex, so I doubt pregnancy is a possibility (bet some of you guys who know me wouldn't expect ot hear that).

Sooooo...If it's not pregnancy, could the pill be causing me this cramping pain? As of about an hour ago the pain/pressure relieved itself, but the left sided pelvic pain remains. I thought the pill was supposed to help ease cramping, not bring it early!

My period, assuming it will come on time and not act irregular, is due around monday or tuesday.

Any advice? Any of you ladies ever experience cramps before your period while on birth control?

I had an appointment on friday and I mentioned the pelvic pain to my physician and she said it could be ovarian cysts. So I did a bit of a web search on them, but I also checked out conditions with similar symptoms, and one that sounded a lot like mine was endometriosis (spelling?)

i have a lot of the symptoms, but if that is what I have, i'm not entirely sure how I may have gotten it. I'll try and ride it out and see if it doesn't clear up in a month or so.

But thanks for your input, guapachica04.

Ovarian Cysts
Hey scaredbaka,

I have an ovarian cyst, well my second one! I didn't know I had another one. I decided to go to the gyno and they found another one Sad but it hurts on one side sometimes. I'm sure you'll be fine they are harmless and sometimes go away on their own.The bcp will help that. I wouldn't worry about it! Wish you well! :d
