Okay this is stupid, but I just noticed that I am having my baby in like 4 months, and I have no idea what to do. I mean I will be okay financially for my leave, so that is okay because I have budgeted for that. But I have no idea what to do know. I am having a baby and I have no idea how to take care of him. I will be a horrible mother. I have serveral books, about how to be pregnant, but I have found nothing on how to be a mother. And my baby and parenting mags don't help. What am I supposed to do?

Okay I will be adding on to this post periodically with questions.

About how many diaper does a baby go through in a month?
How much does a baby have to wiegh to fit a size 1 or 2 daiper?
Should I buy diapers in bulk?

1) with a newborn baby, you should allow 12 diapers per day and 1 extra day's worth of diapers as a cushion. In this way, you should never run out of diapers.
There are approximately 30 days in a month so thats already 360 diapers a month.

2)
newborn = 6-10 lbs
size 1, small = 8-14 lbs
size 2, small/medium = 12-18 lbs
size 3, medium = 16-38 lbs
size 4, large = 22-37 lbs
size 5, extra large = 30 lbs
size 6, extra extra large = 35 lbs
training pants or "pull-ups" for toddlers = 30-80 lbs

3) yes- buy in bulk!!! Everytime you go to walmart buy a pack of diapers, im not even kidding.

If you have anymore questions on anything!!
you will do fine...Its all going to be so overwhelming and life changing but I promise I will be here for you!! Any time you have a question call or email me.

Thanks ya'll. I have not founf a pediatrician yet, as a matter of fact I am about to look up some on the net now. On nov 9th I will be going to gat majority of the baby things, and then on the 23rd I will be going for the second round of stuff. I picked these days because I get paid on th 8th and 22nd, and my mom has a hold an my account so I can't take anthing out unless I make a deposit myself. Sot by nov 23rd I will hopedull have all I need. And i'll start on the diapers know. I was looking at diapers that come in a pack of like 160, and I thought to myself "this is great, I probably will only need one box a month". Boy, was I wrong. The amount of diapers that babies go through is ridicoulas, I really don't understand why they have to urinate or have a bm so often. I hardly go twice a day. Do they really get that much from milk?

Well, it can depend a lot on if you breast feed or use formula. They wont use as many diapers(although they will still use a crap load) on breast milk as they will on formula because there isnt much in breast milk that their bodies dont use. But yeah, they do gotta go a lot. It runs through their system really fast...You can pretty much expect a dirty diaper shortly after you feed them.

Financially we will manage but on principle, I will (damn space bar) not be buying formula, baby food, etc and I will be using terry nappies with disposable liners.

Breast milk, purreed adult food and terries were good enough for me and the rest of the family as babies...

See this I can't understand: 200ml jar of purreed apple and banana = £1.99 approx, apple = £0.19 maybe and banana probably less and will easily make up at least 2-3 jars - cost effectiveness

I know what you mean kia! When we have kids i'll probably make the food for them myself. It's cheaper and these days you wonder if you should trust other people making your babies food.
