Does Anybody Know? Posted: 10-15-04 13:25pm
Ok does anyone know if a bee alergy is
passed down to your kids? Kevin is very
alergic to bees, and we have a bee
problem... Im just curious, does brooklyn
have a big chance of being alergic too?
Ive killed 10 bees so far today, in our
appartment!!! There is a hole on the
outside of the building and the bees are
going in there, im guessin its a pretty
big bee hive, there are alot of bees.
Kevin tried to kill them before but it
didnt work, the landlord needs to come and
open up the vent thing that the hole is by
and see if he can get rid of them. I dont
know if they can even get to the bees.

I'm not sure if it's hereditary or not,
but there's probably a chance that she is
considering most other allergies (ie:hay
fever, animal dander etc) are passed down
generation to generation. Of course,
those allergies are much more common than
bee allergies. If you're really worried,
i'd talk to her pediatricion! Maybe they
could do a test or something.

We dont go see her pediatrician for
another month, and im not that worried
about it to go see him for that until we
get the insurance set up, I could just
imagine how much that would cost! So far,
they havent been bothering anyone, just
flying around the house. Its just that I
want to know if I need to be prepared to
call 911 if she does get stung. Kevin
would have to go to the hospital if he got
stung.
I know if someone has bad
allergies....It's passed down.... But I
am not sure if it's certain ones or
just...........I dunno. You can talk to
your doctor maybe

Hey-
i looked and I cant seem to find anything.
A lot are allergies are through genetics.
You will just have to watch her and find
out the hard way I guess. Cant they test
her for that at the hospital? Thats what
I would do, if I were you just to be
safe.

I agree with sdwood. If the bees are
around regardless of your baby or husband
being allergic to them they shouldn't be
there anyways. So yeah get rid of them,
but make the landlord hire someone.
About the bee thing I don't think it is.
I'm very allergic to bees too, but nobody
else in my family that I know of is.
