How long does it take for breast milk to
dry up if you stop nursing?
Does anyone know any tricks to drying
it up fast?

Cabbage leaves are supposed to help with
it drying up faster.. And I heard (i
havent stopped nursing yet) but it depends
on how long after u have ur baby to tell
how long it will take for ur milk to stop.
Usually about a week but it'll help the
pain if u gradually stop nursing.

If you let nature take its course, in a
week to ten days, your breasts will
typically dry up and feel like they did
before pregnancy. Most women find they
are most uncomfortable when their milk
comes in — around day three after
delivery. There are some measures you can
take, though, to ease the discomfort
caused by engorgement and hurry the
process along.
• wear a snug-fitting bra to "bind" your
breasts.
• avoid nipple stimulation, which
encourages your breasts to produce milk.
• don't pump, even to relieve engorgement
— it encourages milk production.
• apply cold compresses to your breasts a
couple of times a day.
• place a large, fresh, slightly crushed
green cabbage leaf inside each of your bra
cups, changing the leaves when they wilt,
until your breasts are soft again (it may
take 48 hours or so). No one knows for
sure why cabbage leaves are so soothing.
Some lactation experts speculate that
there's an anti-inflammatory agent in
cabbage that helps ease pain and reduce
swelling.
• drink two to three cups of sage tea each
day (sage discourages milk production).
• take a mild pain reliever such as
acetaminophen or ibuprofen, as needed.

Aww you shouldnt quit breastfeeding...
Did they hurt before he got thrush? You
might have an infection from his thrush.

I think he latches on wrong and now my
nipples were starting to bleed. My breast
hurt even more now because they are
engorged and i'm not letting him eat.
I've been giving him bottles all day.

Wow, why not try holding him a different
way, make sure he is facing you and has a
good mouthful of breast, not just a bit of
nipple.
Ka, why won't your mom let you breast feed
it is better for you and baby and best of
all it is free!!!
Also helps if you avoid underwired bra's
girls!! The underwiring can press on
parts of the breast causing blocked ducts
and swellings, so try to find a
comfortable non wired bra.

Welllll she said something about how it'll
mess up my boobs and my figure, which will
make it more obvious to people that I was
pregnant. 'cuz shes trying to hid my
pregnancy from people.. 'cuz people like
to talk
and critisize a lot.

I'm sorry, looks and vanity over health -
in my books not a chance.
Breastfeeding actually helps you to get
your figure back after pregnancy.

I didn't think I would want to breastfeed
my children...But I know its really good
bonding time. Although, I would just
pump..And not actually breastfeed ya know?
Just use my breast milk.

Hey,
i currently breastfeed and my bay is 2 1/2
months old.. And I can tell u, I have my
old figure back! And another bonus... My
breats are another cupsize bigger! I love
em! So for some people, u get more of a
body after u have a baby... And its true
that if u dont breastfeed.. U might not
lose all of ur pregnancy weight.
Breastfeeding helps to reduce the size of
ur uterus and to even get rid of a few
extra lbs... So its very good for u
too!!
