I read in my book that at 10 weeks, a baby starts to recognize her name a little bit but at about 9-10 months, the baby will start responding to their name (of course every baby is different but thats average for it).

I dont think josh will ever know his name cuz I always call him punkin butt or stinker! Lol. Nah but he usuallu turns to face me when I say his name, although I think its my voice he turns for, not his name. Cuz I dont think he does it for most other people. But I know a 10 month old girl whp responds to her name. Smile

U can say mackenzie and she'll look at you but im not sure if shes only looking because she hears mine or ryans voice, but ryans friend said her name and she looked at smiled..Lol so I guess it all depends on the baby.

Question: when will my baby respond to her name?

Answer: it's a little early to expect your child to respond when you call her name. That usually doesn't happen until a baby is about 5 months old. But repeating her name to her when you talk will make it easier for her to learn it. And in no time, she'll be able to make the connection between herself and her name and turn to you when you call her.
