Her name is erica and she's been through a lot. She's my age and she thinks having a baby will solve everything. She likes to dwell on her fathers suicide..So..Try to discourage her from getting pregnant. (she's dating one of my guyfriends, and this is patricks ex too..So..*sighs* yeah)

I hope it is not too late for your friend.
That is too bad about her father. It sounds like she is trying to fill an empty spot in her life.

Well, she isn't going to get the love that she thinks that she will receive. Having a baby takes alot of work, and you do not get a break. Once that baby is here, there is no sleep, no more going out with the friends unless you find a trusted sitter who you need to pay (how much, and for how long), the expence, and I could go on and on.

Not to mention, where would she live, who is daycare, and you do not live in luxary from state assistance. She will be broke all of the time. She will need to work as well.
She really needs to know more details. Have her pay close attention to other people in her community. How they interact with their child/children. Are they stressed? What are they driving? Have her study others before she makes a choice that she cannot undo.

I wrote a very long rant on why children should not have children on another post under the topic of a teen girl wanting a baby. I think she should read that.

This original topic is from 2004. If there were any children, they'd be in preschool by now!
