Tanning-
Posted: 10-13-04 14:08pm

Hey everyone-
I am very very faired skin. I was wondering if I will be able to tan in the tanning beds because I am so fair skinned. Yes, I have used them before...But I didnt tan very much and I only used them around 4 times each amount of time I went. Do you have any tips to help me get tan? Any lotions I could use that will help with my paleness?

Thanks,
kristin nicole

I tried on lotion once I cant remember what it was called but it was in a gold colored bottle, and it worked. I know im mexican and tan already but my upper legs and stomach are whiter than white. So it worked nicely. I dont know about tanning bed though, I never used em. I just go out in the sun and tan. Ill get sunburnt but then the next day the burn is gone and turns to brown lol

Im fair skinned too. If im gonna go to the sunbeds I am really careful. I start by only going for 4 minutes for a couple of sessions every 4 days. Then I put it up to six after a couple of weeks. Then once every week or two for 8 minutes to top up!!

Make sure you get your skin used to it first!! Dont over do it coz fair skinned people tend to go that kinda reddy tana nd I dont think thats nice
also haveing fair skin is the in thing at the mo! So dont be too hard on yourself

Since you're fair skinned they just won't let you go in for very long the first time and then they'll add a couple mintues each time you go. Get a membership and go in the vip beds, they work the best. Also, use an enhancing lotion, not sunscreen. You can buy lotion there but it's expensive so go to sallys or something.

If you want the lotion that works the best, buy it through the salon. Ask them about your skin type. You should get three kinds of lotions. One to help you develop a good base tan, then the tan enhancer, and then once you reach your plateau (you feel like you're not getting any tanner no matter how much you keep going) you have to buy another kind of lotion. Once you start tanning, have another kind of lotion for when you aren't tanning so your skin is always kept moisturized. Don't use any kind of loofah or exfoliaters because that could make your tan fade. Dry skin doesn't tan, it hasto be moisturized. Plus, you dont want to peel. I used to tan a lot, and I can't wait until january so I can tan again.

I heard that taking a hot shower b4 you go to the tanning beds helps you get more tan b/c the water opens up your pores and allows you to soak up the rays.
