My husband is 43 years old. He has been having chest pains, this has happened several times, once him and my son was outside he started hurting my son got him a glass of water he laid there a few min.He said he couldnt breath good when this happened, then he said he was ok.Anyway I finally got him to go to the doctor and they done a lot of blood work, his triglicerides are realy high which I knew he had this problem he just quit taking his medication because he couldnt sleep and he had a liver test come back elevated. It has been 2 years since he seen the doctor he put him on crestor for his trigleceride problem and he done a ekg this showed up abnormal and the doctor said it looked like he may have had an heart attack. He sent him to have a pet scan and I got a call yesterday this was normal. He told me he had this pain in his chest the day before and this worries me. They also said his liver test was elevated and to be sure to take his medication and come back periodically to have his blood checked.I am more worried about this pain he is having I dont know if we should go to another doctor something is causing this pain.He is high risk heart disease runs in his family he smokes and has high blood pressure and is overweight.I would appreciate any advice are comments and many prayers on this. Thanks

Heart Attack - Husband
Sorry to hear about your husband. My husband had "heartburn" for 2 years - doctors sent him from gastroenterology to psychotherapist - never checked his heart - he had a massive heart attack 2 years ago. Has had two angioplasties, and a triple bypass. His heart was so damaged that he now has congestive heart failure. He was 47 at the time of heart attack. My advice to you is to be aggressive about getting every possible test for your husband - he may need an angiogram to see if there is blockage. This is not a complicated procedure - if there is blockage they will do an angioplasty to clear out the artery. It's very important to find out whats going on now. Things get much worse after a heart attack and the heart is damaged. My husband is doing fairly well now, but it has been a horrendous and painful experience. Do whatever you can now, to prevent a heart attack. Also, we found Dr. Dean ornish's book to be very helpful. A change in diet is essential, along with weight loss. Feel free to email me if I can be of any help. God bless, ....... Dori

I agree, be aggressive with the doctor. Did he have a heart stress test? My dad was suffereing from exhaustion and some chest pains. He was on cholesteraol meds, was thin, athletic and had a heart attack. He had immediate quadruple bypass surgery b/c all of his arteries were blocked. He complained to his doctor, but the doctor did not do the right tests to check his arteries. My dad is lucky to be alive.
