Q: Can a Teenager Have An Ectopic Pregnancy?

I've been going through mild stress lately thinking I could be pregnant. Perhaps things have not worked out in my favor this time. I'm displaying some common symptoms, like breast tenderness/growth, frequent (but subtle) urge to urinate, and random bouts of nausea.

But after reading about ectopic pregnancies, i'm worrying myself to death I could have one, assuming I am pregnant. Besides the early pregnancy symptoms, I also feel and have felt for about a month some mild pain in my pelvis off to the left. I can also very easily distinguish a lump where the pain is. I feel pain on the right as well, and a second lump, but that one hurts only when I run.

Also, i've read that shoulder pain is a sign of tubal pregnancy because of bleeding from the diaphragm (??); besides my chest pain, i've been feeling pain in my inner shoulders, more so on the right side than the left.

I've had 2 periods since my first scare and since I went on birth control, unless they count as "irregular bleeding".

.............

I don't know what could have caused this condition, unless my fallopian tubes or cervix or uterus and what-not were deformed. I've never had problems with them or surgeries or anything.

........

Don't know for sure if i'm pregnant (would probably have to be immaculate conception xd), but maybe i'm scaring myself again.

........

To reiterate my original question:

can a teenager have an ectopic pregnancy?

..........

Yes, a teenager can, but if you had an ectopic pregnancy, your pain would be excruciating. I think all of us here can vouch for that very same pain. I went to my doc too at 6 weeks afraid that I had an ectopic pregnancy because of that pain, but it was just my uterus expanding to make room for the baby, stretching the ligaments and tendons that hold it in place. I'm sure you're fine! If you've been having the pains for 4 weeks now, you are probably fine.

I found a site that said ectopic pregnancies that develop in the falopian tubes usually rupture between 6-8 weeks. An interstitial ectopic pregnancy (right at the opening of the falopian tubes) usually ruptures around 12-16 weeks.

Yes, it is possible for anybody (including teens) to have an eptopic pregnancy. What you need to do is, first, figure out if you're pregnant or not. Then, if you are, you should go to the doctor and he'll be able to tell you and your baby are ok. Don't worry about things that you don't know for sure. Remember, stress has strange effects on people!!! Good luck and keep us updated!

You know what honey, if you are on birth control, sometimes it tends to play tricks on you. B/c will fool your body into thinking its pregnant, and it quite often this tends to happen. Yes, it is possible to have that type of pregnancy, which can be scary.

Here are the symptoms of an ectopic pregnancy:
* abdominal or pelvic pain.

* a missed period.

* signs of early pregnancy.

* vaginal bleeding not caused by menstruation.

* dizziness or fainting.

* low blood pressure when bleeding is severe.

Hope everything looks like.

Any woman capable of concieving can potentially have an ectopic pregnancy.

However, the same applies as for a normal pregnancy, you actually have to get sperm inside your vagina and inside to fertilise an egg.

Given that you haven't been having sex nor have you been fooling around so no sperm can have been transferred by fingers or pre-cum and you know that there is no chance that you are pregnant, then there is also no chance that you have an ectopic pregnancy.

Scaredbaka - go see a psychologist and fast. He// run, run fast cuz you sure need to be there, who knows maybe you can run from your fears on the way, maybe some of your symptoms will get left behind...
