Lexapro- Anxiety
Posted: 10-11-04 12:42pm

My doctor just gave me lexapro, 10mg a day to help treat what he thinks I may have, anxiety and adult add. I am not being teated for add yet. He thought maybe treating the anxiety will help w/the add symptoms. I have been on this medication for 1 week now and I don't feel any diffrent than what I did before. I feel as if I am taking drugs that are not helping me at all... Can anyone tell me how long and when I will feel any better?? Exclamation

I have been taking lexapro since april. I feel that it is a wonder drug. It can take up to 3 weeks for you to feel improvement! Give it some time.

I started taking it after having major problems with my 2 teenage daughter (one suffering from depression and the other not liking the constant upheaval of the family from the other daughter, she wanted to move out an move in with her boyfriend - she is 16).

Everything is better now with them, but I am still taking the lexapro because it helped so much with other things too. For example, I feel like I am sleeping much better, and I just seem to be dealing with things so much better with the lexapro that without it!

My husband also tried it but without success. He thought that it made him more tired! He also had adult add. He is now on wellbutrin. He just started that monday so we will see how that works for him.

Keep me posted, I am interested to hear others stories about lexapro.

How is your husband doing on the add medication? I went to see my dr again today, he gave asked me to take 20mg a day of lexapro. He thinks this may work for me since the 10mg was not doing anything for me. I took it today for the first time so hopefully this dosage will work for me. If not, my next visit will be for add medication. :d

So far, so good! He has no compliants. He says that he feels better on the wellbutrin than he did on any other medication. Talk to your Dr. About it if when you go back.

Keep me posted!

I went to see the dr on friday again and he gave me 20mg of lexapro this time. I think I am going to get a 2nd opinion because if he knows for sure I have add then why give me other medication thats not working. Now that I have been taking 20mg a day, I feel very jittery. Im going back in 3 wks after I finish the free samples of 20mg he gave me. I have heard that the medication given for adult add really works well.
