Q: No Period

Okay, here's the story. I'm 18 years old and have been having unprotected sex since july. My last period was the third week of july, which is strange, because I have always been regular. I went to the doctor and they have done many, many tests...I'm not pregnant, my hormone levels are normal, my pituitary and thyroid glands are working properly, I don't have any tumors (thank god!), and everything else that can be tested with a blood test has been and has come back normal. So why no period??? I know i'm way too young for menopause, so what's up? I'm supposed to see a gynocologist in two weeks, at which time I will have missed three periods. Any advice on what could be happening? I'm really starting to get worried.

Nope, I wasn't taking anything. I went to the doctor last week and he gave me more pills...He said he thinks i'm not getting the hormone trigger that starts the period...

18 and no period? Well, heres a question for you- are you athletic? Have you been eating enough? How high is your body fat? Have you made any major changes in your diet? I am 20 years old and very athletic ( I swam in college on a "ship before my shoulders blew out) and I never got my periods when I was training hard, when my diet changed, or when my body fat reached the level of being too low- you might want to check into these factors-

I am very unathletic...I haven't played a sport since middle school, and haven't really exercised since gym class in high school. I'm slightly over weight, maybe twenty pounds, but not much. I eat fine, the same as I always have. I finished the provera pills (again) last week, and had some very icky discharge for about 36 hours, not even heavy enough to use a real pad, just a pantiliner. However, the doc said if anything came out then I should start birth control, so i'll be starting the pills on sunday. Hopefully my periods will come back next month, because as much as I hate to admit it, i'm starting to miss them Wink

Sometimes when you dabble with b/c, it tends to mess with your body- give it time to adjust and you should be fine Smile
