Hello,
I am a 19 male, 200lb, 6ft, and chinese. I've not been very active physically throughout my high school years but had no health problems. However, last year in college (being as dumb as I am) I overdosed on caffeine, not on purpose... I took a 200mg caffeine pill, a large cup of coffee, and an energy drink all in one hour (was going for an all nighter). About four hours later though, I felt a strange heaviness that literally spread through my whole chest, I couldn't breathe at all. At first I thought I was having a heart attack but once I caught my breath my heart was racing really fast. The fast heart beat held on for bout half a day. A week later I went to the hospital with a fast heart beat and hypertension, I explained to the doctors what happened a week ago. They took an ekg (or something) of my heart and said it seem fine but said nothing about the heaviness/spasm I had in my chest. Ever since then i'm always conscious of my heart. As I searched online for answers I noticed that my symptoms looked something like anexity disorder since I went to the hospital a few more times because of a fast heart beat, and it seem to me depicted panic attacks. One attack I think, was actually brought on by myself while I was looking to see if I had heart disease and a ton of bad thoughts went through my head.
This year i've had had very few panic attacks but am still conscious with my heart. I'm beginning to exercise and go on a diet but when I exercise really hard my chest begins to hurt, just straight down the center. I've had this sensation before the caffeine incident but only a couple times. Now, I will feel it everytime I over exert myself, it normally goes away after rest. I was wondering if that caffeine episode damaged my heart? Or do I have some sort of heart disease like angina? I was also wondering what're the chances of hereditary heart disease from my mom's side. Thanks a lot for your time!
Dunno if it'll help but here's my little family history:
dad: high blood pressure (smoker)
mom: blood pressure very low
grandma (mom's side): died of heart disease
