My Poem

This is the poem I submitted:

no longer yours

the smile quickly fades as the tears begin to fall
your legs to weak to walk so that's when you try to crawl
the man that you once knew is no longer who you know
his heart begins to disapear as his anger starts to show

you're too afraid to run but you're terrified to stay
you wish with all your might that this abuse would go away
all your courage starts to fade as his strength begins to grow
what he'll do to you tomorrow you already seem to know

you try to run from him but he just catches up to you
that's when he pins you to the ground and tells you that your life is through
you try to tell him that you love him and beg him for your life
but then he chokes you even harder as he reaches for the knife

with slashes all over your body now you crawl into the bath
the blood flows through the water while this man just points and laughs
you're wishing for your death now since you know that you can't win
you've desided that it's over so you let the darkness in

you sink lower in the tub while he watches overhead
he reaches in to grab you but then realizes you're dead
you'll no longer feel the beatings and the bruises you won't see
all because of your desicion to let go and just be free
