On 8/15/04 my daughter had been out of town with her dad and he pulled up in our driveway with her in shock! She had been feeling a bit under the weather, stiff neck, headache, swollen hands, and a rash...I brought her to er...She was admitted to the hospital right away and after may tests, including a spianl tap, the doctors found staph on her cervix. She also had been using the new nuvou ring (sp) for birth control...(one month)...So it seems that the pap she had prior to her going on the birth control, the ring, and then a tampon for her period is the perfect breeding ground for problems...

While recovering from toxic shock, she contracted mono, her immune system had been so badly comprimised that now she is ill with unknown problems...Blood in her stool, and urine, headache, side pain....We have a team of specialists overseeing her care...

Please post if you have had any similiar or any ideas..

Wow that is just awful. Does she still have mono? A friend of my that I went to college with had mono and she took this stuff called monobrex, her mom sent it to her.

She took it for about two weeks and it was like she never had mono. I guess what it does is protect or repair your immune system, which is what is attacked when you have mono. You might want to consider it. She had had mono one time before that and couldn't believe how fast she got over it the second time. Even her doctor asked her what she did because it was such a quick turn around. Just a heads up.

I hope your daughter gets better soon. That's scary and stressful!
