Q: Combining Depo Provera With Contraceptive Pill....

Three weeks ago I had the dp injection and recently I have had bleeding. I took a few contraceptive pills (on consecutive days) to try to stop the bleeding while I was with my boyfriend. It has just occurred to me whether this could have any effect on the contraceptive abilities of the dp injection, however I would have thought I would be ultra safe taking both. Is there cause for worry as I do not want a pregnancy at this stage of my life.

Many thanks for any feedback. Shocked

No, you're just fine. Bc pills are often used w/ depo to help with the bleeding. There's no extr chanced of pregnancy. Smile

I have the same problem. I'm on depo now and bleeding. I was given ortho but my doctor told me not to take it till nov. When the shot will be wearing off. Seeing that nov. Is only a week away, would it be ok to start taking the pill now? I also asked my doc that and she said no it wouldn't help with the bleeding. I have read that it does help. Did it help you with your bleeding? I just want any advice on how to stop the bleeding and spotting I soo tired of it!

Thanks
