Hello I am a 35 year old women and found out 18 months ago I have mitral valve stenosis after having rheumatic fever as a child . I am now waiting for a valve replacement operation in the next 5 weeks .I was told for 11 years I had servere asthma as I was constantly out of breath I finally went into hospital with a blood clot on my lung and found out I was having heart failer . That is when I found out I had mitral valve stenosis.
