We burp, belch and fart an average of 12 times a day. But why do we have gas? And what is intestinal gas?...the basics here....
Intestinal gas forms from two main sources - swallowed air and bacteria in the intestine. Plus, learn which factors to avoid to decrease the likelihood of gas....
How much gas is normal? Usually symptoms of gas and flatulence are more bothersome than serious. But learn when you should seek help for excessive gas here....

Need some advice... Six years ago, I completely severed the radial nerve in my right hand at my wrist. I underwent surgery and they were able to reconnect that nerve and I regained about 85-90% of the feeling, strength, mobility and dexterity back.

Tonight, I ended up in the emergency room due to a severe asthma attack. The doctor ordered an arterial blood gas (abg) to determine what the oxygen saturation in my blood was. The first time they tried, they were unsuccessful (they tried getting the results out of my left wrist at the radial artery). The second time, she told me that she was going to take it from my right arm (the bad one...) at my elbow.

While she was attempting to get the sample she needed at the radial artery, at least three times, she hit/punctured the radial nerve. It was excruating pain!! My right hand completely seized up on me and I was unable to even move my thumb, index and middle finger for 15 minutes.

It is now almost 6 hours later and I am still having severe pain in those three fingers. I have no grip ability, I cannot pick up a pencil or fork to use it. When I pick up something, I will either have severe pain or no feeling at all... I cannot tell what I am doing with those three fingers. I have greatly decreased mobility and dexterity in my right hand, particularly in my thumb, index and middle fingers. This is worse pain than the orginal injury six years ago.

My question is this... (and I am sorry about the long post)... But, could my radial nerve been re-damaged while she was attempting to take the abg?
