I agree. Im prochoice, but I prefer adoption over abortion. People who put there babies up have a lot of courage, but I could never do taht.

Ok, i'm probably going to get flamed for this big time. I'm pro-life. I think abortion should be illegal in all cases except rape where requested by the victim and cases in which the mother's life is in danger. I think any girl/woman who has sex willingly and gets pregnant as a result of it should not have the right to escape the consequences of her actions. I think adoption and motherhood should be the only choices in cases like that. It isn't like babies don't fly out of the government's hands like hotcakes to adoptive parents. And it teaches the girl/woman a lesson in birth control that no other experience can teach.

So a baby should be without just for birth control? People do make mistakes.. So a baby should have to live with that the rest of there life? A baby is a life..That a parent should be ready for. Birth control is not 100 percent..So a young girl is smart and uses protection everytime but yet she knows she cant finacially support or care for a baby its wrong? And who can tell me..They would carry there own baby for 9 mths feel it kick deliver it kno its a part of them and then hand it to a family..Even though it may be a wonderful one..Who could do that?

so just kill it? Are you saying it would be easier just to kill your baby than to give it life and let another family raise it? To me...Abortion is just selfish! There isnt going to be a way around everything in life...Sometimes people need to accept consequences!

I have had a termination 7 years ago - but in my case it was after date-rape.
I think its great that the option is there in these situations but I think it should be more difficult to have a termination just because you got pregnant.
What I am trying to say is that it should be almost impossible to use as a method of birth control because it isn't.

To all you prolife people.. What is really so good about life anyway? If you ask me right now "what if you were aborted" I would say yes because I really see nothing good in life right now, there really is no point. If you are alive, then you work to have a great life for your mental health and you try to live the best life you can but it's nothing to actually cause anyone want to if they had the choice to be put on this earth to live. Living life to the fullest is something you strive for because you are already here, life is not something I would chose over being nonexistant. I mean, I don't know if it's because the bad mood I am in or not but when I really think about it.. Life sucks but I am not going to commit suicide because right now I have this stupid heaven and hell caca that I have to worry about. I know I am not christian but I don't want to take that chance though I doubt suicide would be the only thing destining me for hell. Right now I have a bf and I am happy around him usually and he is the only reason I am even living right now other than the hell thing and it's great while it lasts but he's gonna die someday and when that happens, I will be extremely depressed... Well I don't really know how to say it but it's nothing to look forward to, but I can't kill myself now can I because this stupid hell thing I have to worry about not that I wouldn't be in hell on earth if something happens to him anyway.. So right now I know my life consists of a little temporary happiness and then when it goes.. It goes and i'm stuck picking which hell I want to stay in, and right now there is no way I can get around it. It would be easy for the christians to say.. "well just devote your life to god and you don't have to worry about it".. That's just it.. I dont' want to devote my life to something compromising what I want to do, and it all turn out to be a lie. Basically what i'm saying is, life is not worth choosing over being nonexistant.

Brandy- i'm really sorry you feel that way! Its hard for me to imagine having nothing in life to look forward to because there is so much to look forward to! Getting married...Having kids...Your friends getting married and having kids....Neices and nephews....And everything else! I think you have to find what you are passionate about in life and strive for it....That will give you something to look forward to and accomplish! But yeah...Im sorry you feel like that!

All that is great when it happens but for me, I have a major roadblock.. Deep down I know any happiness is temporary. To all those girls who look for love and can't find it, stop looking. I have found it and in the end, it will only turn out for the worst. Death is inevitable and I know it will happen, I can only hope I go first. As long as if you do find it, it won't crumble your foundation when it's over go ahead, but now I feel like I am dangling over a black hole by a thread that can snap at anytime. I don't blame my bf at all, I blame life and I blame my mom for deciding life for me when if I had a choice, I would have chosen to never have been.

I hope you are able to work past this in your life and find that while each happiness may be temporary there is always another to look forward to.
But the reason I think termination shouldn't be freely available is that hopefully it would make more people (girls and boys) think before they act.
It isn't a method of birth control, people should be able to accept the consequences of their actions.
I appreciate that accidents do happen - split condoms etc which obviously you have less control over than missing a b/c pill.

that's not for us to decide for someone else. All of us had mothers who didn't choose abortion in our cases. What if they had? We wouldn't be here discussing it. We would have never had the chance. We were given the chance, and its the least we can do to give it to others when we have the chance.

I am definatly prolife. I think that abortion is wrong and should only be used in the extreme situations of: 1-rape (no matter what kind) and 2-if it's a hazard to the health of the mother and/or baby. Although i'm prolife, i'm not going to condemn anybody for choosing abortion over adoption or keeping it (i have a friend who had an abortion... Although she's a wreck now that it's done) because I don't feel it's right for me to judge like that. But I believe that if you're old enough to have sex, you're old enough to handle all the responsibilities and consequences that entails. Plus, abortions are just gross... I mean, they basically puree the baby. *shudder*

Im prochoice all the way but would never have one myself. Who is going to take care of all those neglected babies and women that die giving themselves abortions? Let me tell you somthing, the women who want them (if it were illigal) and cant have them.. Theyre not all going to put their babies up for adoption. Some will keep them and abuse them or kill them.

my mother chose life for me,, had I had a choice, I might have chosen to be nonexistant.. So childbirth violated my right to nonexistance. I'm serious. I never want kids so I may get sterilized sometime in the near future or I might just get an iud.. I have a bad temper, I really don't want kids around me when I get angry and if you saw me when I get angry, you wouldn't either.
