Was on the pill most of 10 years...I went off it 1 year ago..Still haven't gotten my period. At first I lost a couple pounds, happier, but now weight is extremely difficult to keep off no matter what...Is this b/c my hormones are out of whack or what...Any feedback is greatly appreciated

Extremely eHealthy
Why did you go off the pill? Was it your choice or did you have a medical reason?I know I went off in april this year after 13 years and i'm still not regular. My doc said my body needed time to regulate itself.I know I need to be patient, but sometimes,my period comes every 2 weeks!Arghhhhhh!Have you discussed this with your doctor? If you are in my age group(over 40),you could be what is called perimenopausal-that means your body is getting ready for menopause. It is very common to have irregular periods, weight gain, hot flashes and many of the other symptoms of menopause.Blood work needs to be done to check hormone levels to see if this is indeed the case. Please see your doctor to get checked out!Patty
