I have been on dilantin for 20 years now and depakote for about 7, and my doctor says there are long-term effects from dilantin. Does anyone know of any, because i'm too scared to change medications after taking it for so long.

Long term side effects from dilantin are overgrowth of the gums, excessive hair on the face or body, acne, coarseness of facial features.
