Please help. I had a ruptured splenic artery aneurysm 3 years ago while 3 years pregnant. My son and I were only the 14th woman and baby to have survived. I lost my spleen and had a distal pancrenectomy (? Spelling).

I can not find any information on this and my pancreas. I see a gastro but to be honest he seems to have no clue. I am sick all of the time from colon spasms, constipation, diareha, nausea and have trouble maintaining weight.

Does anyone know about a the type of surgery I had and where to turn, what to expect and what to do?

Thanks. Sad

Distal Pancreatectomy
It looks like your gi problems are functional and have nothing to do with the previous surgery. I think you will benefit from consulting a naturopath or a homeopath, who will be able to give you simple natural remedies.
Good luck!

I Hope You See This
I had my spleen removed and I must say my life has been hell. Natural stuff is cool but you need to do way more then just herbs and vitamins.90 percent of the boddies emuine system comes from the spleen. The first two years with out a spleen are very dangerous. You need to get four different vacsinations if you havent allready! Insurerance compannies will not give you life insurerance if you have a splendectimy. Because our imuine systems are compared to alot like hiv patients the first two years. I dont mean to scare you, I just dont want you to find out all this stuf the way I did. You will gain weight the first to years because otheir parts of your body kick in to try to make up a new emuine system. Liver, thyroids, and otheir glands try to take up some of the spleens job. I felt sick week and tired all the time know matter what I did. The good news is I am alot better now 3years later. Hang in their sister.
