17 - Virgin - Std Or Not? Posted: 10-04-03 15:19pm
I have never had sex in my life, but when
I was little I remember noticing that at
the opening (end) of my penis, on the
right side the skin extends into sort of
like a clearish bubble, which sticks out.
Keep in mind, I was born std free and I
have never had intercourse in my life. At
age 9-10 I went to the doctor for this,
beacuse I was really worried, I dont think
it appeared until I was 7 or 8 (but I
can't remember exactly). The doctor told
me it was not an std, and that it would go
away by putting two different types of
cream on it. She gave me a bunch of the
little tubes, and I still have some of
them.. The stuff she gave me was "elcon
ointment" made by schering. I have tried
to research this stuff to find out what
its for, but I have had no luck. I
believe she gave me another type as well,
and the only other tube I could find is
called nizoral.. And I cant find out what
that is for either.. But it says it is a
"ketoconazole cream".
I know she said it wasnt an std then, but
in health class a few years ago, talking
about sexual health, the teacher mentioned
if a guy has a bump on the top of his
penis, he has a std... I instantly fealt
like crap... My girlfriend is very
concerned as to why I am not wanting to be
sexually active, and I dont know what to
say until I have some facts about my
situation. Anyhow, as you have probibly
figured out by now, it has never went
away... It is not hard, or anything, it
just looks and feels like skin, but is a
bit more clear than normal skin.
I have researched almost every std I can
think of, and spent wayyyy to much time
trying to figure out what this is, and how
to get rid of it. I just want to be
assured that it is not an std... Even
though the doctor said it wasnt, im
guessing she could have been wrong??!?!?!?
I dont know, but someone please help me,
its very important to me right now.
Thanks
justin

I don't think that there is any chance you
have any kind of std especially since it
has been there since you were very young.
If it is still not going away just go back
to your doctor because you certainly dont
have an std!

Some Luck.. Posted: 10-04-03 15:30pm
Ok I found a pdf file on the elcon
ointment, and read it, it seems as if she
was thinking this was an alergic reaction,
or general skin problem, but I cannot
totally understand everything on the
pdf.
I think it did go away, and I stopped
treating it, or something, I cant really
remember, but... It has been on me for
the majority of my life at least... If my
girlfriend saw it, she would probibly
think I had an std, and that is what
bothers me the most.

S-t-d stands for "sexually transmitted
diseases." if you were not sexually
active, didn't get anything when you were
born (through the birth canal from your
mother), and were not raped as a child,
it's not an std. If you had it as far
back as you can remember maybe something
happened when you were circumcised. Does
it hurt? I wouldn't worry about it.
If it bothers you, or is painful, go back
to the doctor and have them checked out.

After researching nizoral a little, it
seems like its for the following...
"ringworm, athletes foot, sun fungus, and
yeast infections of the skin.. Http://healt
h.Yahoo.Com/health/drug/202317/overview is the information on it!

i have never been raped, and according to
my mother she does not have any nor ever
has had any std's, so that couldnt be a
possibility! And yes, I think that I
have had it as far back as I can think...
I was circumcised, and that thought has
ran through my head a time or two as well.
It does not, nor ever has hurt in any
way. I can live with the way it looks, if
it isnt something that can be treated, but
its effecting my possibility of getting
laid, and thats a bad thing, at least to
me it is.... Lol.. I just dont want to
hear what might possibly be said when my
girlfriend sees it... :-/
i just dont want to have to be humiliated
beacuse someone else (sex partner) thinks
its something that its not...
Maybe if I tried applying the creams
again? I know they are like 10 years old
so they are probibly expired, or no longer
any good, but I think they are over the
counter creams, as when I searched for
them, many online pharmacy/drug stores
have it for sale.
Too bad it would be illeagle to photograph
it so you would have something to base
your opinions off of ... Oh well

Well, your doctor did not sound overly
concerned about it. If you wat, go to a
diff doctor to get a second opinion. Who
knows, the bump may just be the result fo
the circumcision. And hun, I am willing
to bet that you do not have an
std...There's no way that would be
possible. Every penis looks different,
just remember that. But, you sound very
concerned, so do not give up in your
persuit to find out what it is. Be
persistant, and do not give up. Go to a
few doctors if you have to, express your
concerns, and inform the doctor that you
want to know what it is or what caused it
so that you can put your mind at ease.
As for your girlfriend, if you are
seriously considering becoming sexually
active with her, you need to tell her
about this "problem". She will
understand (if not, she's not worth your
time). Just explain to her that it has
you concerned, and I am sure she will
support you, so that you do not have to
worry and go through this alone! good luck

Hey,
you really shouldn't use those creams.
Put them in the garbage. I use elocom
cream for skin irratation and I get a new
tube every 6 months even if my old tube is
not empty. As for your problem you should
go to your doctor. Mostly for your piece
of mind. If you don't find out what it is
your first sexual experience will not be
good because you will be too hung up on
what she is thinking. Your doctor will
know exactly what it is and how or if you
need to treat it.
Good luck,
jenn :d

Hey. I have this clearish bubble too at
the tip of my penis though it came because
my circumcision went a tad wrong and I had
a wound inflicted on me.. Which took a
long time to heal and eventually, made
this clear bubble appear. It's not that
obvious but i'll have it surgically
removed before I get married or
something..

Justin, it is not an std. Not possible
according to your words. I'm thinking
maybe along the lines of what blue eyes
said. Ya never know, it could be some
kind of birth mark or something. Don't
worry about it. Probably nothing
serious.

Thanks everyone
i went to the doctor, and you are all in
fact right... Im happy now that I dont
have to worry about it, and my doctor is
different than the doctor I went to when I
was young, this doctor told me that it
doesnt need to be treated, and no cream or
ointment or whatever will help it beacuse
there is nothing to help.
Unlike what you stated above "the doctor
will know exactly what it is", that is
false, however she has limited it down to
two possibilites. A. Birthmark, as
someone stated above, she said this is
more likely, knowing I dont have any
birthmarks anywhere else on my body. And
b, circumsision had a role in it. It can
be removed, however according to her, it
would be quite expensive, and wouldnt be
worth the money.
So, all solved, what I got is nothing to
be worried about thank god lol
thanks again everyone!

Just a Crazy Idea of Mine Posted: 10-17-03 22:43pm
Ok, this is going to sound really stupid.
If what the other people have been typing
to you is actually accurate and it is just
a scar from circumcision or a scar from
something else then I might have a stupid
suggestion. Last year I had a bit of a
sports injury and ended up biting through
my lip. I ended up having a tiny bit of
collagen put into my lip to reduce the
scar tissue. I'm not a doctor or anything
but if you are really that worried about
the appearance of some sort of mark or
scar then you may want to check it
out...But that's just my crazy idea.

Kitoconazole- treats a variety of fungal
infections. You don't have a std it could
be extra skin or a wort. Just ask a
diffrent doctors advise. Hope all goes
will for you. As for your girlfriend try
sitting down to talk to her about it maybe
she will understand. Good luck!!! Just
remember it doesn't change who you are.

I Think I Have Some Answers... Posted: 12-08-03 13:42pm
Okay-
if we are talking about the same thing,
then it is spelled elocon. It is a
mometasone furoate cream by schering. It
is to be used topically. (applied to the
surface of the skin.) my baby boy uses
this for excema.
Are you circumsized? If so, than maybe
the urologist did not cut the foreskin
evenly, and the "clearish, "bluish" color
may be the thinnest part of the skin.
But, if at one time, your doctor felt
strongly enough to provide you with a
cream to treat it, than maybe you should
see her again.
Hey-
don't stress about telling your girl.
Chances are she will be totally cool with
it. If she is the right girl for you,
than she wont mind. Besides, everyone has
something that they would like to hide
about their body.
When I was 14, I lost my virginity to my
boyfriend who was 15. When I was 16, I
moved in with him. When I was 17, he came
to me and told me that there was something
wrong with his penis. He was very scared
and ashamed. He told me that he was not
circumsized. I sat there wondering what
the big deal was. To him it was a big
problem, and truly we had been having sex
for 3 years, and I had never thought about
it. I loved him, so it was never an
issue. He stressed over nothing.
