I was at the hospital today for my clinicals, we are working cardiac stepdown and cardiac icu. We get our patient's info they day before and then the morning of clinical we all sit down and have to talk about our patient to our teacher. We talk about what they are in for and the meds they are on and that kinda thing. Well we got to this one girl and her patient was an 87 year old male, he was in the icu and on a ventilator. So she starts talking about her meds and she said "and hes on depo-provera". I was like "he's on birth control????" no one could figure it out...Not any of us, the teacher, the nurse. So they had to call the doc and be like, "why is this guy on depo?" turns out...Its a respiratory stimulant! But...This poor man would have died if he knew a bunch of girls were running around, looking at his chart trying to figure out why he was on birth control! Poor guy!
