My mom went to the dr the other day for a
bad cold they gave her a xray and said she
had broncidis can't spell anyways they
said she was ok take ur medicine well they
called her back and said they had a second
look at her lungs and saw something they
said it could be cancer or newmonia they
said come back in 3 weeks to have it
checked out again my mom has been smoking
for 30 yrs she is now 46 I am so worried I
can't imagine what to do if she does have
cancer im all torn up in the inside im
trying not to show it so she can have some
releif and she is quiting tommorow
{smoking } I guess it takes something like
that for someone to quit. Anyone ever had
a false reading in your lungs im so
worried and don't know what to do please
help.

i would not worry too much for now.
Having a shadow means just having an area
that may be something like a pneumonia,
called an infiltrate. If the doctors say
something that looks suspicious they might
want to take a ct scan of the chest, or
they may elect to wait for an infection
like bronchitis to heal and repeat the
chest x-ray.
