My best friend whom is only 11 weeks pregnant found out today by mri results that she has some type of sarcoma cancer in her leg. Of course she is scared to death, and the doctor that called with her results made the comment of 'minimizing amputation for the sake of the child'. Will she have to choose between her leg and her baby?

Hello

it is very hard to tell, but it is possible. Sarcomas are tumors of the soft tissues: muscles, ligaments, but may be from bones as well. If they involve extremities sometimes amputation may be curative, but sometimes chemotherapy may be involved as well.

Good luck
