I had a microdisketomy 5 years ago and it I havfcould not have went better. Almost immediately the pain I had endured for almost two years was gone. I am currently trying to get in better shape with a weightlifting and aerobics exercise routine, some basketball, and a little running. My problem is that, after exercise and when I wake, my lower back and hips are "extremely" tight. I'm sure more stretching would probably help but I don't want to over do it, as I sometimes do, and make things worse. Any links, info, supplement recommendations that anyone could provide would be greatly appreciated.

Personal research. A doctor appointment. Learn to read the messages your body it sending you.

Its kind of hard for specifics since most of us are not doctors. You should have a follow up visit with you surgeon and get his/her input

I'm No Doctor, Follow Any And All Advice At Your Own Risk
But, there are some common sense things you probably already know.


1. Always stretch before exercise

2. Perhaps a different type of exercise would be better suited to your specific needs

3. Always check with your medical practitioner before beginning a new exercise routine.


4. Follow any and all advice at your own risk.

I have been helped greatly by pilates,but I consulted my doc first!!See what your doc says and go from there.Good luck!Patty

The girls are 100% correct. You need to ask your doctor. He/she will know what is best and what isn't. Following the advice from anyone else, even someone who had the same surgery as you, is extremely dangerous.

I would advise you to purchase information on "combat conditioning". I have suffered from back pain myself and this method cured me and then some. It contains an exercise called "bridging" which is miraculous in its treatment of back pain.
