The simple answer is
yes you can.
The longer answer is you can but it's not as common. It all depends on where in your cycle you ovulate.
To avoid pregnancy by knowing when you ovulate, you need to carefully monitor, your temp and mucus and other stuff and must be aware that it is not fool proof and can go wrong, so this is not something to consider if pregnancy is a no go for you.
Why not take the simple route to avoid pregnancy and protect your self with birth control or condoms.
If you want to have a baby then make your body as healthy as possible, avoid all possible drugs, including nicotine and alcohol. Take folic acid and prenatal vitamins.
Either waatch your cycle carefully and have sex on your fertile days or if you have a fairly "standard" cycle have sex every other day from around day 10 onwards.
Sex every day can lower the sperm count.
Sperm can live in your body for upto 5 days (some say 7 days) so every other day will ensure there is plenty of them little swimmers waiting for a nice ripe egg to come their way.
