B/c takes about a month to fully be in your system! Adn you are deffinetly not protected yet! So..... You never know now........ Wow. Heather, be more careful! It doesn't take effect in one day!

Here is your answer heather-

for sunday start, you must use non-hormonal back-up contraception (such as a condom, spermicide or diaphragm) for the first seven days of patch use. If these instructions are followed, the birth control patch will be as effective during the first cycle as it will be in subsequent cycles of use.

For first day start, if you apply your first patch during the first 24 hours of your period, no additional back-up is required. If you do not use the first birth control patch within the first 24 hours of your period, a non-hormonal back-up contraception (such as a condom, spermicide or diaphragm) should be used for the first seven days of patch use. If these instructions are followed, the birth control patch will be as effective during the first cycle as it will be in subsequent cycles of use.

Hey heather
the pill takes a couple weeks to kick in... Im not currently on the pill but I had sex for the first time today, and we used a condom ( I didnt wanna have sex, didnt feel ready yet but tim would not drop it lol") have u gotten a regular period yet??? Im not sure if u could be ovulating but hopefully nothings happened. Even tho ur on th pill, u should use another form of contraceptive for awhile Smile

I must be such a coward today since it's past twelve is my six week check up and I still haven't done anything. He's after me everyday and it's driving me nuts. I hope everything turns out okay. Please be careful, although I know you are being the best mom you could be you do not need two kids nine months or so apart.

Heather, you can have an iud or ius inserted and it will prevent pregnancies, upto 5 days after unprotected sex also, could you get a morning after pill, although today would be your end limit (3 days after unprotected sex) on taking it in time Confused

Whats an iud or ius? And I dont think the morning after pill is workable here cause shes at school til 4 today and the doc closes at 4:30 idk idk what were gona do. I guess just wait and hope she has her period. She hasent had one yet sense giving birth to mackenzie but was starting to cramp like she was getting it lastnight late so I guess if that comes then will we be all set? ...I hope? -ryan

Wow I seriously hope nothing happens. You need to be sooo careful-a woman's at her most fertile after having a baby so you really should use patch condoms or wait for a month.
The iud is like an implant which is fitted internally & can prevent a pregnancy if indeed one has taken place. They're 98-99% reliable & start to work immediately so this would probably be the best thing to use in your situation
take a look at this site for side affects, info & advantages/disadvantages

Sex After Birth
I thought they usually say wait six weeks at least before having sex after birth...Is that true? And not to judge...But why didn't you guys get on birth control a week or so after the mackenzie was born? My fingers are crossed!

They usually say wait 6 weeks till after... But some poeple can after four (if they'r stitches are healed or if they never got any of if bleeding has stopped or c-section). I waited till about 7 weeks.. Just cuz I was still nervous. But some poeple can at 4 weeks postpartum. It all depends on how ur body heals.

Usually they dont put you on b/c until you are 6 weeks post partum so your hormones can try and return to normal. And heather you arent breast feeding right??? So you dont have that extra protection. Oh man im sorry hun. I really hope you arent. Did the doctor not tell you how long to wait b4 having unprotected sex? I don't even care. Lol. I'm back on the pill again but I refuse to have sex without a condom too. Im scared outta mah wits! lmao! But I really hope you aren't and good luck!
