My daughter has physiologic pulmonary stenosis (heart murmur) she is also loosing her hair. Her cardiologist said that there are cardiopulmonary problems that cause hair loss. She is 5 months old. I know that babies loose their hair but my people don't and her father has brittle hair and her grandpa has no hair any where except for facial and pubic hair. What types of cardiopulmonary problems cause brittle hair and what do you do to treat it? Please help me I don't want her to be teased like her daddy was......There must be something I can do.

Hair is made of protein so maybe if you give her meats, fish and beans, she won't have as many problems as your father did.
I know my mom has a heart murmur ( shes over 45 now) and her hair is just fine. Shes not able to do acrobats and stuff like that but she had a normal life.
Some babys have hair (normaly fuzzy) , others don't. Hair that falls out, will grows back really theres no need to be concerned until shes 4 or 5 years old. Two of my daughters didn't start really growning hair til they were 2 1/2 years old. It differs and by the sounds of the hair loss problems are mostly thats on the male side anyway. Other then talking to the doctor about your concerns about her hair loss though not sure theres any reason to be worried. I hope this helped alittle... Babies tend to not really lose hair but rub it off from moving it around on blankets, hats, carseats and other things thats why the tend to lose hair... I really wouldn't worry too much about it until she is much older though.

( sorry hubby called got distracted)
