What Are the Birth Control Patches????
Posted: 10-03-03 18:58pm

I was wondering what the birth control patches are and how they work. I know the only true way to protect urself from getting pregnant is not to have sex at all, but I am one of those stubborn teens. Anywayz, I was wondering about the birth control patches I have bin hearing about. My friend was on the pill and the first couple of weeks she was throwing up and then she said that if you skip a pill than u can bleed for about a week!!! I dont really wanna be that way, so does the patch do this as well, and what effects does it have. I am only 16 and I understand the consequences of having sex, but then I am trying to protect myself so if anyone has any information pls help!!!

Same thing as the pill, but you can wear one patch for up to a week. Side effects include dizziness, blood clots, temporary infertility after you stop using it along with all effects of the pill including the heavy mentruation if stopped using.

Hey the pill is pretty much the same thing as the patch. Im on the patch and I just change it once a week on the same day and the last week, which I have my period I dont wear anything. I havent had clots or anything. Its pretty much ok, except I get alot of nausea. Like I feel like throwing up all the time. And it doesnt make me too hungry! Which is a good thing! I like it. I just wish there was no nausea!
