Q: Help!! Oral Herpes Or Hiv?

I have had sex and the condom broke..This was 7 months ago. A month afer this incident I got swollen gums and mild ulcers in my mouth, accompanied by a cold. I thought everything was ok until 2 weeks ago, I got the same symptoms and also a small cluster of cold sores. I had a slight cold and gingivitis....But all of these symptoms dissappeared within 4 or 5 days. I don't know if I should tie these in with the sexual encounter ( which was my first time). I'm really worried and read an article about the first symptoms of hiv. And also another article about oral herpes. So...I have no idea. Does anyone know if this is the first symptoms of hiv or is it simply cold sores??

You can only get oral herpes from having oral contact with herpes. A condom breaking (in your vagina I am assuming) cannot give you oral herpes.

Exactly what she said. You need to have oral contact, otherwise, it's a nono.
