| sorry to sound so dramatic in the subject but I really am at the end of my rope! I have had severe and paralyzing abdominal pain for about a year now. I have been to multiple gp's, gi specialists, hospitals, clinics, etc. X-rays, cat scans, mri's, hyda scans, blood work galore, ultrasounds, scoping. I also had my gallbladder removed; it was a bit of an exploratory surgery and they also ended up taking out my appendix.
It's not a pancreatic, liver or kidney disorder. My intestines are physically functioning fine, no obstruction of signs of crohn's or peritonitis. Thought about a malabsorption (lactose, etc) but I haven't ingested anything but white rice basically, tried lactaid, beano, etc with absolutely no help! Not ulcers, acid-reflux, ibs, anything w/ reproduction. Can't find any pattern as for activities, time of day, food, eating in general, not eating etc as to what is associated with the pain. Not stress-related --believe it or not, i'm really not *that* stressed out, or at least I wasn't when this all started. I've been on protonix, zelnorm, fiber supplements, prevacid, and a million and one supposed pain relievers. Nothing will work for pain except for iv morphine or dilaudid :( my doctor says he doesn't know what to do. The gi specialists don't know what to do. I think i've looked at every page on the web ...Please help me. I absolutely cannot live with this pain. I can't go to school, hold down a job, or function like a normal human being when this hits me 3-4 days and lasts up to an hour  |
