You know, i'm no professional but I can tell you what my parents allow me to do, seeing i'm still a teenager. First of all, no driving until 6 months after a seizure! For me thats huge seeing I just was able to get my lincenes. As far as playing on her own...........Well thats up to you. Personally, keep an eye on her for a while until things seem to be under control. As far as fairground rides, well, thats something i'd avoid for a while, (sorry kid) sometimes, and until you actually know, seizures can be induced with flashing lights, such as some video games, or othertimes they can be induced by.............Well nothing. They just happen. As far as chocking on her tongue, it is possible, but seeing how i'm the one who has the seizures, i'm not sure what the correct approach is to that. Another big thing for these questions, see a doctor. Even a family physician will do. Hopefully this helps some.

Hai, I have a sister who has epilepsy..And it has been occuring most of time..She goes to school and does her own things..And frankly saying she is not happy with her situation right now..Anyway she accepts it.

We discovered that ppl with epilepsy must not stressed out too much coz it has something to do with the blood flow in the brain..

Its quite dangerous for them to do things such as swimming, climbing high places and things that might harm them..Well, I as a brother have been keeping a tight watch on her whenever she does her things..And sometimes u cant watch them 24 7..

Never let them have emotional stress - > no matter what happens..

Epilepsy
Hi there,
i was diagnosed with epilipsy when I was 3 yrs old after a fall down a flight of stairs. My left side of my brain was damaged and I was unable to catch a ball, my co-ordination was gone and my short term memory was effected. I am 32 yrs old now and have been cleared of having epilepsy since I was 12 yrs old. My grandmother at the time was a midwife, registered charge nurse, and to help me with my co-ordination she encouraged me to play space invaders. I did this for many hours and soon could catch a ball my memory improved drastically and the electrical impulses in my brain appeared normal.
A few months ago I read in a medical newsletter that space invaders are being used to treat children with epilepsy in usa with great results. You may want to check this out. It worked for me as I have not had a seizure since I was 11 and a half!
As far as swimming climbing trees etc as long as the epilepsy is under control with medication there is nothing you cant do. Don't let this condition rule your life! Just be careful operating heavy machinery seek medical opinion first.

Good luck and keep hoping.
Leah. Smile
