Oh and when I do control/alt/delete and the task manager pops up, theres like thirty programs running and I have no clue what they are! How do I fix that? Is there any way to "clean" up the computer without losing valuable information?

Your computer sounds like mine... Riddled with spyware and viruses. The disk defragmenter is under system tools in accessories. Close all open windows and programs (everything on the list when you push ctrl alt del except systray and explorer) and defrag. Make sure you set your screensaver not to come on. It takes a while sometimes.

Okay, here's your breakdown. You have at least one virus. I also notice you have mcafee virus scanner. Do you update it regularly? Because it won't do you any good if you don't update it.

To stop these processes, hit ctrl, alt, delete, and find them, there should be a button that says "exit' or "kill" or "stop" or something like that. Or you maybe can right-click and choose stop or something like that.

Explorer - this is internet explorer.
Zioknkbc - don't know.... Don't touch it!
Optimize - don't know, but you can stop this one.
Frext - don't stop this. This is used by many programs.
Actalert - you can safely stop this one.
Install - this is part of a virus. Stop this immediately and scan your computer for viruses.
Directcd - this is a cd burning program. You can stop it if you don't want it running.
Outo - this isn't bad, its used by music and cd programs.
Rundll - this is part of a virus. Stop this immediately and scan your computer for viruses.
Wkcalrem - this is used by microsoft works calendar reminder. You can stop it.
Kzkuxqpa - don't know, don't touch it!
Systray - used by windows. Don't touch it!
Vsstat - used by mcafee virus scanner, don't touch it!
Vshwin32 - used by mcafee virus scanner, don't touch it!
Msgloop - this is part of your audio driver. Don't touch it.
Msg32 - msn messenger.

Yeah don't touch it means you could break your computer or certain programs if you stop it or delete it. You have to run a virus scanner to get rid of the viruses, its not enough just to stop them.

Erin, how can I detect a popup blocker? I think I may have one. I can no longer post on msn because it says post popup (whatever in here) then it says error.

Go to your control panel, click add/remove programs, and look in the list for something that looks like a popup blocker. If you see something you dont recognize that might be one, you can do a google search to find out what it is. And you can use add/remove programs to remove it once you find it.

I believe msg32 is a virus. Msn messenger shows up as msn messenger. A lot of viruses use letter combinations that seem familiar and add the number 32.

The ones that say 32 say that because most computers use 32 bit processors, it doesn't necessarily mean that its a virus, just that its written for a 32 bit processor. 64 bit processors are becoming more common, but i'd still estimate about 98% of computers out there have 32 bit processors.

I looked into that one some more, and it isn't msn, its something your sound card uses.
