We burp, belch and fart an average of 12 times a day. But why do we have gas? And what is intestinal gas?...the basics here....
Intestinal gas forms from two main sources - swallowed air and bacteria in the intestine. Plus, learn which factors to avoid to decrease the likelihood of gas....
How much gas is normal? Usually symptoms of gas and flatulence are more bothersome than serious. But learn when you should seek help for excessive gas here....

Q: Does This Sound Like Gastritis?

I have some here today, gone tomorrow symptoms that seem to indicate a stomach problem, and i'm wondering if it may be gastritis:

- excess gas (for 2 days)

- intense stomach pain (for 1 day)

- feeling of fullness (only when I wake in the morning - lasts about 1 hour then never comes again during the day)

- feeling of having a full stomach after only a few bites of food (had this for the past 2 days)

...............

The full feeling every morning is the only thing that has stayed around. I believe, though, that it may be gas building up while I sleep, and walking around daily helps relieve it.

I also pulled a muscle last firday and the pain lasted 5 days until I took some motrin ib for it. I can feel a lump where it was, but it no longer hurts. I wonder if this was part of my stomach problem. (the "muscle" was on my left side right above my pubic area).

...........

I have not experienced fatigue, vomiting, or nausea, although right now I think my dinner may be disagreeing with me o.O

i read this on the web, but I don't know how true it is...But if a 17-year-old girl (yes, me) has a yeast infection left untreated for 7 months and it starts to sort of subside around the time when this stomach condition begins, could there be a connection?

According to the site, a yeast infection can trigger gastritis. But the thing is that this condition is more common in the elderly than teenagers. Is it even possible for a teenager to get this kind of ailment?

..........

Any advice whatsoever on this matter would be greatly appreciated!

Hi There
My 17 year old daughter is going through stomach problems as well. She is now being checked for an ulcer. Perhaps this is what you have as well? I did not think that ulcers effected teens but I have found out differently.

Good luck with your stomach problem.
