Q: Diet Recommendations For Lupus

I've recently been diagnosed with lupus and need advice on proper diet to help reduce the symptoms. Homeopathic remedies are welcome as well. Any known web site addresses would be most welcome.

Hi There
Welcome! It is nice to meet you! I am ladybrannon!

With a recent diagnosis:

may I suggest the following website:
www.Lupus.Org

as for diet...Here are a few things to stay *away* from:
alfalfa sprouts
bell peppers
tomatoes (items from the night shade family)

as with any disease, a low fat, vegetable and fruit rich diet is your best bet.

We are here to help. If you have any other questions, we have a lot of people here that are very knowledgeable on lupus.

Hugs,

Diet And Lupus
You may also want to check with a dietician at your hospital to see what kind of diet you need. I have sle and must watch my protein intake constantly. I eat chicken and fish every week (fish once a week) and maybe eat beef or pork once a month. I have found, with less salt in my diet as well, that pork is naturally just too salty for me so I pretty much avoid it.
